The timing of the jump in hospitalizations was just too perfect. JBE doing work.

Hospitalizations are up, but still not nearly as bad as they were at the height of it. I haven't spoken to my friends and family in the hospitals about Covid in a few weeks. I'd be curious to know if they are feeling an actual surge or whether this is just a slight side effect of opening up.

Until they come out and say those are hospitalizations due to covid I’d consider them bullshite based on what a local doctor told me.

AGAIN I ASK do the new hospitalizations NEED to be there OR are they being admitted for "observation" and earlier on would they have been told to quarantine at home?

YES if they need to be there then I'm glad they're there BUT I don't trust out state so ...

I have a teenager at lsu. Half the people she knows has it right now.

But that wouldnt explain hospitals as all of them either have no symptoms or just slight head cold.

Are hospitalizations going up because hospitals are admitting people they wouldn’t normally have to make money?

Hospitalizations have only gone up 26 since Phase 2 started. Not exactly lecture worthy.

That’s not how hospitals make money. Since Obamacare kicked in, hospitals make money by getting people in and out ASAP. It’s all about turnover. Taking covid patients locks up a room for 2 weeks or more. That’s the way to LOSE money in the current format.

I don't understand the logic. If hospitalizations were near zero you would proclaim time to open everything back up so you can get your nails done and build herd immunity, etc. But 100% trust those numbers. Now that number is increasing you don't buy it?

Yet, at the same time believing the FLU numbers 100% when they are just computer generated and real pneumonia deaths added in (one of the few countries that does it). They finally finished up revising the flu deaths from 2017.

It’s been a long time since we had a jump of 56 hospitalizations over 2 days.

I will be surprised if he doesn’t talk about it.

How would your friends be feeling a surge? It’s 41 statewide. If that type of increase threatens our hospitals, shame on us.

Also, screw the click bait headline stating “startling spike in hospitalizations”. We had a decrease yesterday. One day does not make a trend.
