There’s an outbreak among kid/teens in Nola right now. Both of my boss’s kids tested positive and I’ve heard of many more.

My daughter is 13 and she got tested this morning because she's leaving for camp next weekend....why are so many other young kids and teenagers getting tested?

Travel ball fields with hundreds if not thousands of people last few weekends

But generally all healthy kids and parents. So some nice herd immunity incoming

those hospitalizations numbers make me think we need to ban all Florida and Texas ppl from entering our state

we have been one of the best states in the nation and I hope that continue

Maybe sports, I know two 13 year olds that we’re tested and tested positive after their mother tested positive who works at a nursing home. This caused the entire travel ball team, parents and siblings to get tested which we’re all negative.

If you don’t have fever & are not showing symptoms I don’t see how they can force the issue

My mom had surgery Friday before last at OLOL & was not tested

I have heard they are testing mostly everyone who enters and 100% of patients. Guessing just a mistake.

I agree with this. Both of my cousins play football at a small school in Louisiana and they both had to take a test before they could report. Typically they take a concussion baseline test and physical before the season, but this year they added the Covid test. I would imagine some players tested positive that had no symptoms.

My daughter will have to get tested in 7-10 days then quarantine for an additional 14 days after my symptoms leave. The school won’t accept a negative test till then. If she tests positive she must still quarantine for 14 days. I tested today but won’t know till 3-5 days. I’m pretty sure I have it tho.

Are hospitalizations going up because hospitals are admitting people they wouldn’t normally have to make money?

That is very likely. Hospitals and medical facilities have started up outpatient and elective surgeries again. Surgeons & support staff lost their asses for the 2 months things shut down.

Today at 2:30 p.m., Gov. Edwards will provide an update on COVID-19 in Louisiana. As of 12 p.m., @LADeptHealth is reporting 461 cases of COVID-19 reported to the state since June 21, 2020. #lagov #lalege

The hospitalization numbers are absolute trash

Rate of positive tests are not increasing at all,

Hospitalization numbers have to do more with what populations (old/vulnerable) are catching it, more so than positive test rates.

Trouble breathing?

Will be interesting how LSU handles this when school starts. Will a student who tests positives be forced to do distance learning and all the people who came in contact with the person be forced to quarantine for 14 days as well and can assume many of those will be students as well.

Yeah someone will be pissed.

I don't really care about positive cases ... kids at bars? Who the hell cares. The bars were open .. so why wouldn't they go? If the bar wasn't following capacity then that isn't on the kids.

This is all such bullshite (as far as cases and worry about them).

Why weren't we this concerned about college students catching h1n1 in 2009 when it was actually killing college students?

Who was in the White House and who controlled both the House and Senate then?
