183 people in Florida is the equivalent of 39 people in Louisiana.

For people's reference, not directed at you.

Not denying it here ... just saying that we can't stay home forever and cases will go up. It is what it is -- there is no running or hiding from a virus.

What?

You're the biggest covid bitch going right now. Most of the rest went away after they were proven to be very wrong.

Oh I agree, I'm not advocating another lockdown, in fact I think that first one extended the virus and slowed the spread, only to extend the length of it, which is really dumb.

I dont think that happens again unless the beds get full.

Well I hope that they can continue to be managed at home. How severe are their symptoms? Any idea how they were told to self treat? I would that severe symptoms would have kept them in the hospital.

Why do you think all those graphs dip and trend downward?

Because the spread has been mitigated for a variety of reasons.

The slow open is making it go back up.

Or the additional testing? Percent positive of tests in Louisiana remains flat.

It'll be real interesting to see your rolling averages come September, let's see them then.

I'm not the one panicking about a marginal bump.

Who's denying anything here? And bookmarked.

Can certainly agree with you on this.

My mom had surgery Friday
She was not tested, they are only testing if a fever is present or the patient is showing symptoms.

Also, they started round 3 of testing at my Grandpas nursing home this week
I am guessing round 2 found some asymptomatic residents because the # of positives jumped from low 20’s to right under 40

How are they accounting for those 458 where the parish is undetermined, 0 out of state. How do they have no information on the patient of the positive test?

I have yet to see this number go down. Are they not following up on these undetermined cases? If they cannot figure these out, how the hell are they going to manage contact tracing?

7 day averages without old tests.

Cases +540
Percent positive 5.42%
Tests 10k
Deaths 13.57 (most models predicted we would be averaging 17)
Hospitalizations +3 per day
Ventilations +.9 per day

Considering they are contact tracing, it seems we have flattened the curve.

If you used what they originally meant by flattened the curve and why we were doing it, this was accomplished in late April.

Based on current case mortality, they are still missing about 2500-3000 infections a day in Louisiana.
Down from missing 10,000-15,000.

Are other states having these dumb arse backlogs on a regular basis like we seem to be having???

Absolutely. Texas had a big dump yesterday even. And all of this is flowing in to the national numbers without a peep at that level.

Which then gets translated in to muh increases. Such a joke.

From yesterday:

Texas: "The reported cases for June 16 include 2,622 new cases and 1,476 cases that were previously diagnosed among Texas Department of Criminal Justice inmates but that had not been reported by local health departments (887 from Anderson County and 589 from Brazoria County)." [source]
