There's got to be a better way to report the backlog numbers. This is misleading as hell to the masses. People don't read.

Problem is this dump will now flow in to the numbers for the US inflating that number as well.
At the US level nobody is going to know it was a dump of past tests. And this is happening all over the place daily so you can't trust a thing.
shite flows downhill.

I mean they clearly stated it's a backlog. And Honestly you have to be a fricking retard to look at these numbers and think it's alarming.
That’s not the problem. The problem is the media won’t clearly state it.
And yes there are a lot of people that a fricking retarded in this country.

Hospitalizations still falling. Only thing that matters, especially with these “backlogs”.

They need to find a way to change the reporting. Maybe just correct previous results (wherever those tests would have fit best).
Or tell the vendors who are taking forever to get their shite together.

Trust me. They are among us and still won't shut up.

Which media outlet will write the first article about cases spiking in LA? We have a dem gov so we may be spared the headlines.

Even if 500 cases are old, we still have 700 new positives. That’s a higher bump than I’d like to see unless other later dates are dumped in too but not accounted as prior tests.

At this point, deaths and ventilators are the only true indicators

Even with the 500 old tests, 700 of 24000 is pretty damn reasonable

There have been five similar one day spikes since May 1. The previous five times, the days following were notably lower. That may not be the case in the coming days, but so far these high case days have been anomalies.

Doesn't matter. The narrative is there. LOUISIANA SEES ITS HIGHEST DAILY INCREASE IN CASES IN MORE THAN 2 MONTHS. SECOND WAVE! SECOND WAVEEEEEEEEE!!!

Since June 1-
Louisiana’s positive test rate is 4.92%.

There is absolutely no reason for this
There are very simple reasons for these dumps. Most of the tests are being performed by private labs, and many at mass testing locations. The labs don’t report every day by noon. They send over a large set of results periodically. So we get these dumps.
Even with the dump we are looking really good. The next 7 days will show if there was a Memorial Day bump. If I had to wager, I’d bet that we won’t see any significant increase.

So you go back and update each test per the date of testing.
Someone who was confirmed positive 2.5 months ago is either recovered, or dead. There’s no logical reason to report this as a new case.
