Once residents and employees in nursing homes test positive they are no longer tested, and employees can come back to work after 10 days not 14 if they are symptom free for 3 days. The state changed this last week.

True,I’ve had two employees never test negative and are back at work after being symptom free for X time and being given clearance by doc.. the problem is, where do they fall in the data sets and the fact that they have no correlating negative test skews the positive test results.

Agreed. It’s also pretty horrific science to knock off 75% of the number arbitrarily. Big jump to less than 5%.

Estimations by cdc and who are cases are undercounted by roughly 10x

So, like you said, we have 10,746 confirmed cases over the age of 70

Multiply that by 10 and it’s 107,460

2,281/107,460 is a inferred mortality rate of 2.1% for people over 70 in Louisiana

Since I said over 75, I doubled the number to make it 5%

Just curious where that number comes from exactly. Is it from the positive rate? Where do they get that to know they’re missing the correct number 10 fold?
