did you mean excluding?
No, I did not
If people do not choose to visit their loved ones then that’s their decision but there shouldn’t be any reason why I cannot walk in wearing a mask, go to a private room, social distance & leave
They can keep dining rooms closed
They can keep public restrooms closed
But I am not a risk to anyone by walking down a hallway anymore than the staff
The residents are left to sit in a small room 24/7 with nothing but a tv for company
Not all residents have phones, not all residents can use phones
Not all residents have window access to visits

Gotcha. I am in agreement, just was making sure because keeping them closed seems to be the prevailing opinion.

Aren't most rooms shared?
Also social distancing and wearing a masks are completely effective. They are like the rythm method is to pregnancy.

Sorry, I’ve been on the road for a few days now. Probably won’t be able to get back to regular updates until early next week. Thanks for filling in, OP.
Got your back, homes!
ETA- I can't promise weekend updates, though

If we could all go without air conditioning for a few weeks we may be able to avoid going back to phase 1. I don't expect you mouth breathers to be able to pull that off though.

Where my Grandpa is is private only
I understand that it may not be an option for everyone but there are things that can be done to protect residents
Again, some staff works multiple jobs, some at other nursing homes
They have a much larger chance of spreading the virus than I do

Don't give a mother fricking frick anymore. I just don't. Whether the numbers are good or bad, it's not good for us, especially with the leadership from the city, state, or federal governments in this country.

They’re also testing a lot more frequently than you are. Long-term care facilities are some of the safest places in the state right now, believe it or not. Be patient.

I’ve been getting 15-20% + at our clinic on rapid tests

weird bc "deaths with covid" isn't really being affected hardly much compared to the amount of "cases" being reported.

What is the reliability of the repaid test? Just curious. I've heard they are not as reliable as the other test.

Depends on how much you repay.

Where I consult most long term people are two to a room. Some pay for a private room.
That said new admits are in a private room for 14 days — if they’re short term they stay there but if long term they transition to a double room.
We’ve had one die due to refusing to eat from depression. We had k e die who went seriously bat shite crazy and she was demented before but not too bad — it got way worse with the isolation.
It’s not a pretty site for these poor people.
ETA all but may 10 (really less) of our residents ah e NOT tested positive or been sick. Four of these are couples — husband and wife who are in the same room.
Weekly testing is done and we’ve had no more positives since early may.

Why on earth are y’all still doing weekly testing? Seems like LDH and OPH said something about backing off after a couple-few weeks with no positive results?

Its been at least 4 weeks where my Grandpa is with only 1 staff member testing positive
ETA
& they are doing weekly testing
