I just have no clue how he can say "hospitalizations and new cases need to stop increasing before we cam move forward"
They have been decreasing. And good thing Trumps corrupt arse supports him like the clown he is

Very easy to fool them and they remain clueless

I just don't get how he can point to hospitalizations. Case growth is definitely down, but the hospital #s just can't be twisted. We're at the lowest point in 30 days. That is just a irrefutable fact.

He said they were alarmed upon learning that there is probably a big percentage of people out there who probably have it but don't know it because of no symptoms and no test.
And there are more cases than we know about BUT we've known this since it was said that people have it without symptoms!
Agian, WTF are they going to do with testing? Test me today I'm negative. I go to Target, Lowe's my moms and tomorrow I could be positive. How the F are they going to catch all asymptomatic people??? I can get behind testing when I go to work on my way in but other than that, that's a violation of my human rights is it not??
In my mind while in theory it would be good to catch the asymptomatic positives, HOW will that happen?????

The fact is in most states, Louisiana included, 35%-50% of COVID-19 deaths are from Nursing Homes or LTC facilities.
This
Also add the incarcerated population. I'm at a lockdown facility with many COVID cases (some deaths) who are isolated and have limited staff interaction. Likelihood of transmission to the community is low.

Been wondering that also since they keep saying they need 4-5% of the total population tested every month to reopen.
Why would people go get tested if they aren't having symptoms. Are they going to mandate certain people go get tested each month?

Deaths not dropping while ventilators are at like 1/2 of peak. This shite doesn't make sense.
Apparently going on vent is no longer the first stage of death.

If you find out you’ve been around someone who is positive, wouldn’t you get tested? Or if you are having symptoms which could be consistent with Covid?

Trace testing

Outside of two high outliers (4-14 and 4-15), deaths have been between 50-70 per day for a full month. It’s not consistent with anything even if you try to take into account lags.
These death numbers are absolutely bogus. They are bumping these numbers up. Something is definitely fricky. Would love to see number heart attack deaths for the month of April and compare it to those months in recent years.

WAFB report on covid treatment at OLOL in BR
Well, I'm glad that the numbers are less .. 140 positive patients at the Lake currently down from a high of I think 250. They talk to a Doc and a Resp Therapist .. I took the reporter as implying that they, at the Lake, came up with a new method to treat patients -- proning -- but that's being done all over. I asked specifically about it to someone claiming to be a nurse and also a RT on this board (long OT thread I think). It's not new but hey I'm glad they're doing it. Maybe I'm just in a negative mood and inferred it incorrectly.
Also in the video, the doc/rt aren't wearing masks while speaking but none of the staff in the background at the nurses station is wearing a mask ... SO maybe if they're not,I don't have to??
Back to my question about testing: so maybe the 200,000 tests being asked for per month are mostly for contact tracing? I don't mind that for myself -- I mean if I find out a friend is positive and I've been around them then test me. Didn't think testing from that aspect.
There was a news piece last night on KATC about a gentleman in I think Lafayette parish who tried to get tested twice and was turned down -- he was black, a ittle overweight looking, had BEEN IN CONTACT with his positive mother (he brought her to the doctor I think) and he had diabetes. His wife called around and found a site in St. Landry parish who said yes to bring him .. he got tested, he got sick while waiting, when he was told he was positive the wife brought him to the Hospital. He died two days later. WHY would someone who had been in contact with a positive patient NOT have been tested???? Even if it was early on (I didn't catch the time line but maybe a month?) contact with someone should have "qualified" you!

These are the people I thought they were saving tests for
I’m curious who turned him down twice

By and large they won't, absent a situation where you find out that you may have been exposed to a positive case. A lot of the testing advocates seem to envision a situation where there is going to be mass testing of asymptomatic people. That is just not going to happen as a practical matter. Not on any large scale.
