I say horse-shite! It is ridiculous that our labor market hides under the guise of BUT NO LOCAL PEOPLE want to do that work (sugarcane, crawfish, roofers, etc). HORSESHITE! No locals will do that work for $12.00 an hour. It is time the FAT CATS that run & ruin our labor system become accountable. Make the one time adjustment, and bite the bullet. THEY ALL MUST GO HOME! No exclusions, no exceptions, no horseshite! It will never happen, but it needs to happen to truly Make America Great Again.

Her husband. Nothing about that story or timeline makes sense.

I hear you, but crawfish has really grown in popularity in neighboring states and beyond.

This right here. Every year the morons that think they know everything say “ Louisiana needs to stop buying crawfish to get the price down”. They don’t realize that Texas will just take everything and pay for them. Whether it’s right or not that’s what would happen.

I hear the same crying daily. I live in an area where all the commercial fisherman curse ag producers because they "can't make a living anymore". Such a tired narrative because they have the same opportunity to put their money at risk as the farmers, but they'd rather just mostly cry foul.

So you’re saying we should pay Americans more than what we pay H2A labor? Which is 14.87 an hour. If that’s the case crawfish prices will be even more than what they are.

According to most the people on this board, we don't like them.

Can still go catch me a sack whenever I want one. Downside is that I still have to see idiots like you complain when you don't have a clue.

Yes, so you're one of the farmers. You clearly lost touch with the regular working man out there. Congratulations

fricker, you have never had to try to hire and run any kind of job with unskilled labor I bet. You could offer $25 an hour and still get the same local lazy entitled dipshits. Depending on which field you are in they could be drunks, methheads, or just typical do nothings.
They might show up. Might not. Will do half arse work when they do show up. Then if they make it a week or two and get a paycheck, good luck on seeing them again for a while.

There’s a handful of crawfish farmers, buyers, and peeling plant owners, that get together once a week usually beginning of the week and set the price.
All based on supply and demand.

They migrate to Florida to pick tomatoes during the summer. They don’t magically appear and leave. They just migrate.

That’s just wrong. Every H2A worker around here has to go home for atleast 2 months or they aren’t allowed back the next season.
