This is without a doubt the toughest post I will ever make here because of what he means to me. Some of you know my father, my namesake on this forum. Buddyreaux was without a doubt one of the greatest people you’ll ever meet and I only hope I can be half the man he was. He lost his life to stage four metastatic adenocarcinoma cancer but he tried to fight it to the end. I’ve made so many incredible memories with him and that’s what I will remember instead of what the cancer did to him. There are so many wonderful stories from all his friends and family that keep pouring out to me and it’s been a somber but beautiful experience. If you can please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers.

I lost my Pops to ALS in 2017. It was a brutal disease, but was relatively quick given what it can do to a person. Watching him deteriorate so completely and quickly was the most difficult thing I've ever been through. The day he passed brought, honestly, a bit of relief. The grief was there, of course, and it was terrible, but there was no recovery possible for him. The details of his suffering hardly ever register with me anymore, and they aren't important here. They've faded with time, gradually replaced by the overwhelming memories of the great times we spent and the stories we all have of those times.

Those memories and stories are your life raft today. They are what will keep you going and get you through the coming days, weeks, and months. It isn't easy, in fact......it outright sucks, but it does get better.

My condolences for your loss. I'll say a prayer for you and your family.
