He was definitely a dick to people who didn’t want to put in effort. If you had any question after he would be willing to explain it and not just shrug you off.

My Chemistry teacher Mrs Bradly. Man hating bitch. Little Miss perfect girls were mad at my favorite teacher because he wasn't giving them an easy A in French so they would complain to Mrs Bradly about him. Mrs Bradly kept on trying to get my favorite teacher in trouble by asking the girls if he ever made any inappropriate comments to them, almost coaxing them along. And she was an Auburn grad and hated LSU. I still dont like you bitch and I broke your bunsen burner bitch.

Mrs. N 11th grade English - She was committed to helping us investigate literature and write at a sophisticated level. I absolutely despised her class. Every day was thoroughly planned. She held us to the fire when it came to writing well. She persistently tasked us with building on our knowledge. I just didn't plain like her.

But looking back, that was the most effective English class I had in high school. I wouldn't have struggled so much my first few years of college if I had four years of quality English teachers.

Had some professor that taught an upper level asset/finance management course that also taught at Georgia Tech and was a total jerk. He made us do the math (no calculator) for all asset ROI and other calculations. First test I made a 40 on and thought I was going to have to drop the class. Turns out it was curved up to an A because he put some questions on there that we shouldn’t able ti answer and he just wanted to see if he had anyone smarter than they should be in his class.

I appreciate now because I use him as an example of how some teachers are just assholes and you have to deal with it.

Mine I can’t even spell, Czech immigrant when the Soviets took over. She and her family immigrated to escape Stalin (she was a small child then).

She singled me out for all the opposite reasons because of the rumors from my drug arrests (3x for a single joint each, the last 2 because of friends not disposing of it by eating instead holding it or tossing it to be found). Threatened to get the county sheriff stationed at the school search me as I was across the room tutoring a hottie over the material (chemistry) as the teacher with thick E. European accent sucked at explaining. She also hated me for being able to figure out the material and teach it to my classmates better than her. I was the high score in her class after teaching the material to that year’s valedictorian!

She was just a bitch anyway. Neither of my sisters liked her either and they were goody 2 shoes. Yea being run out of your home and nation sux but after 30+ years: get over it!

took a Deviant sociology class in college, teacher hated men (typical sociology professor) and I was the only male in the class.

Started off rocky but ended up being fun as hell debating those women.

I had a Mr. Merrit 7th grade in Memphis. He was elsewhere after that. Once he smacked his yardstick dangerously close to my knuckles and he was flabbergasted when I stood and took the yardstick out of his hand and tossed it out the 2nd floor window

He retrieved it when he got the principal who didn’t even bother to call me out in the hall, just said to apologize and not do it again.

Mark Nassif, math, Tara. Dude was hardcore. Had a final where just after he passed out the tests the school lost power. We all began to cheer thinking the final would be cancelled. Nope - dude pulled out candles from his desk, handed us each one, and we took our advanced math final by candle light. He and I fought all the time but that man could teach some math. My first 3 college math classes were a joke because of what that man taught me in high school.

I won't say names, but...

A PE coach at Istrouma Middle. Dude was a racist and liked to shame weak kids.

Some guy, can't remember his name, that was the assistant track coach at Zachary High. (He left after one year.) He tried to get me kicked off the track team because I would go out and practice early (senior with 5 classes) so that I could go to my after school job. Basically said, "If you can't be at practice, you shouldn't be on the team." I threw javelin and discus. I always practiced alone.

First grade teacher at Zachary Elementary. Just mean and nasty. Screamed at kids for the slightest mistake. She would take a kid behind the chalkboard and beat his hands with a ruler.

U.S. history teacher at Zachary High. Her name was not worth remembering. She was a "copy the questions from the overhead, now read the book and answer" kind of teacher. She hated me because I was much more intelligent than her and knew the material better.

Freshman (high school) English teacher. I didn't necessarily love her or hate her, but I didn't fully appreciate her until adulthood. She was old school and rolled hard, but you learned your shite.

Looking back, most teachers that I hated deserved it. There are certain ones to this day I wouldn't piss on if their arse was on fire.

Truett Thorn, taught social studies or history at West Monroe High School. i never did figure out why he was such a fricking dick. the last time i spoke to him was a week after graduation 52 years ago. he asked if i graduated, and when i said i did, he said "you know what that proves?" "Anybody can."

he died, and i got a bs, passed the cpa, then got my JD from lsu and have practiced law for 30+ years. So frick you Truett Thorn. Damn, that felt good.

Main one I can think of was a teacher in HS who taught what I do for a living.

I learned a lot but he is/was such a massive prick it is hard to give him credit for anything.

Did not help that he fricked up a number of things, such as assuming that the curriculum was changing to where we didn’t need the old books only to find out it didn’t… which meant we were learning out of Xerox packets for the whole fricking year.

I learned a lot of the structure and techniques for what I do now but it convinced me to go to a more applied area of the field rather than straight tech because it was such a miserable experience.

Miss Marion, my sixth grade teacher. From the first grade on all I heard was hope you don't get her when you are in the sixth grade.

To show how mean she was: I got a severe case of poison ivy and was out for four days.

Unbeknownst to me, my Mom had called my teacher and on my first day at home, watching tv and eating popcorn, I heard a car pull up and there she was, Miss Marion.

She had all my books and a sheet with all the work for the week. As soon as she left I called all my buds and told them I had proof that she was the meanest teacher ever.

she gave me a zero on because she said that there was no way I had written it...but I had.
---and now you like her for that?

Had a teacher that introduced herself on the first day of class and ended with "don't mess around in here because I will get the last laugh". I passed the class no doubt, but some shenanigans got me failed. I remember specifically asking her for my grade at the end of the year so I could go on a school sponsored summer trip, and she wrote the most perfect cursive F on the paper. The thing is, I never disliked her or got mad at her. She told us on day one she'd have the last laugh, and she did. 10th grade me learned a valuable lesson. Sometimes you can't win, THE MAN is gonna get you sometimes.

So many people here didn't read the OP's full question---no wonder you hated your teachers---you didn't follow directions

Scary science teacher in 9th grade. Giant man, very strict disciplinarian. I remember one kid threw up on the sidewalk going to his class on the first day.

But soon I realized he had to be a hard arse because we were a bunch of goofy idiots. Even as a sophomore the next year I appreciated his style and respected him tremendously.

Mrs. Shackleford 2nd grade Stonewall Elementary. She's draw little circles on the chalk board, make us put our nose in the circle, then spank us with a paddle for any little thing.

Don't think teachers can do things like that anymore.
