Longest You've Gone Without Sleep

I've had a massive toothache for the past three days, so I haven't been sleeping much at all. I can't get in to see the dentist until Monday. So, I've been just dealing with it. It's not so bad during the day, but for some reason at night the pain is out of control, and there's no way to make it feel any better except swishing cold water around my mouth.
So, I've pretty much been awake for three days with the exception of a few minutes here and there.
I'm starting to hallucinate and hear things. I'm hoping my body just shuts down when I get home from work today.
So, what's the longest you've gone without rest?

I have insomnia..before I got treatment I once went about 4 nights without any sleep at all... was hallucinating and had body aches worse than any flu I've ever had. I don't think I've encountered anything in my life more torturous than feeling that way and not being able to shut my eyes.... hope you get some rest man.

72 hours.
Have you tried sleeping sitting up? If you have a recliner, give it a shot.

In the military, probably around 40-45. Up early one morning, went to bed late the next night.
Just recently did around 24 with travelling, wife's emergency surgery, and a 2 month old.

I have sleep problems which I eventually went to the doctor for. I got to the point where I wouldn't be able to sleep for two or three days at a time.. Then I would eventually get so tired that I would get one really good night sleep, then it was back to not being able to sleep for a few days. I'd say there were times when I would be up for close to 72 hrs at a time..

I worked for almost three days straight once. Stopped being tired after the first day, and it was hard to fall asleep when I went home.
Eta: I naturally don't require much sleep, so it's probably much easier for me to do than other people

If you gonna be up 36 hours, might as well do some meth.

Get a tube or Orajel and swish with it on that side every 5 minutes.
Take two ibuprofen and two Tylenol.
You're welcome.

Ah yes the thread where everyone claims to have stayed up for a week straight. Love these threads

Summer between high school and college I worked in a plastics factory. I worked Friday 7p-7a, played softball all day, left took a shower, went back to work, left at 7a, finished the tournament at 2, slept from 3-6, then worked another 12 hours. So 48 hours a wake straight, 3 hours sleep in a 65 hour time frame or so?
Really lucky I didn't die. There were parts of the Saturday night shift that are missing. No idea what happened. Could've easily been seriously hurt, but 18 year olds do dumb stuff all the time.
