Aren’t you still a lockdown proponent?

Lockdowns initially was key. It saves many lives by limiting the amount of people who got the virus while Heath care figured out how to treat it. Now simple safety precautions such as mask in crowded places like schools allow schools to remain open. Then if everyone that could get vaccinated it would allow us to get back to normal. Vaccine doesn’t stop you from getting COVID it prevents you from the serious side affects and/or death. Same idea with the flu shot. Doesn’t limit the flu it limits the seriousness of the symptoms of the flu.

Of course they didn't. They were never going to have a real impact and they were doomed from the beginning. That's like locking your doors and windows after a roving group of meth heads are in your house stealing shite.

John Hopkins is a well known science denier and a white supremacist. You can't believe a word that guy says.

It was government policy to send people home where the virus spread the most. I’d say we killed a few hundred thousand net. The entire scientific community ignored 100 years of scientific study on mass quarantines and it’s efficacy of preventing respiratory viral spread. Mock and ridicule because you will not get an apology from anybody who supported “doing something.”

Some people were here on the OT telling you guys that lockdowns were Chinese propaganda since the beginning.
The “people are collapsing in the streets of Wuhan” videos were put out by China to get the West to shut down. Even the Covid thread on the OT was titled that until like May.

So Trump was wrong on lock downs. He should have fought them from the beginning. Really the only negative I have on him with the way he handled Covid.

It’s high… very high.
Over 81,000 drug overdose deaths occurred in the United States in the 12 months ending in May 2020, the highest number of overdose deaths ever recorded in a 12-month period, according to recent provisional data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
FRIDAY, June 11, 2021 (HealthDay News) -- The suicide attempt rate has leapt by as much as half among teenage girls during the coronavirus pandemic, a new government study shows.
During the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, death rates were increased by about 10% for breast cancer, 16% for colon cancer, and 5% for lung cancer, she explained.
Researchers say people are more than twice as likely to die from a heart attack during the COVID-19 pandemic because many aren’t going to the hospital after experiencing symptoms of heart trouble. Death rates for patients with heart problems sky-rocketed 27% since March.

Speaking of Johns Hopkins, I can't find their Facebook page. What's up with that?

Masks. JC. The CDC has finally admitted what people have been telling you for almost 2 years. I looked up almost a dozen scientific studies going all the way back to the Spanish flu. They all say the same thing. Masks give you about 5-8% protection…when you use them and dispose of them properly. They have done nothing to stop the spread. Again, the CDC admitted this. N95’s are barely better.
Get your head out of your arse. You are wrong and you look like a fool.

The "study" is a joke. Why didn't it include any of the multitude of studies showing the effectiveness of lockdowns in their meta analysis? Because those studies would refute their narrative.

Link? The CDC website says noting of the sort and has a long list of studies showing the effectiveness of masks.

Are you still advocating for lockdowns?

even people with covid not seeking treatment sooner.
The suicides, overdoses, domestic violence.
Zappa says it was all worth it when the easiest solution was to protect those in long term care.

Yea, funny how those studies that just popped up fly in the face of hundreds of studies done over the last 2 centuries. Your unabated stupidity is noted. Just shut the frick up

People will downvote the piss out of this, but by the time the decision was made to have lockdowns it was too late.
At the time, I thought that if we had a lockdown and stop the spreading it was best to interrupt things for a month rather than years. Well of course that didn't happen.
And this is the point this point will melt over. Trump is at fault. China reported about the virus on December 31, 2019, but they waited until the last minute to put out their report because it is believed that they could have started dealing with this as early as September 2019.
But the US should have started taking action right away. Shutting down international travel and testing people who were coming in from China.
Read the book by Michael Lewis The Premonition: A Pandemic Story.
But Trump pretty much ignored it until March then he would just ignore the information his advisors would give him so I blame the lockdown and how it was handled on Trump (I say this because people only blame things on presidents when it happens under presidents they don't like and if you are being unbiased you have to admit that Trump is responsible for the handling of this).
Don't get me wrong, the CDC sucks as well, but unexpectedly, the government reacted too late when they could have gained control of it if they reacted 3 months earlier.

So new studies don't count but studies done a hundred years ago do? What a moronic statement.
