Lockdowns had little or no impact on COVID-19 deaths, new study shows

2 weeks to flatten the curve
So in conclusion, lockdowns hurt more people than it helped. Wonder how many people have committed suicide over lockdowns or how many died due to not being able to get proper medical treatment.

Lockdowns in the U.S. and Europe had little or no impact in reducing deaths from COVID-19, according to a new analysis by researchers at Johns Hopkins University.
The lockdowns during the early phase of the pandemic in 2020 reduced COVID-19 mortality by about 0.2%, said the broad review of multiple scientific studies.
“We find no evidence that lockdowns, school closures, border closures, and limiting gatherings have had a noticeable effect on COVID-19 mortality,” the researchers wrote.

But the research paper said lockdowns did have “devastating effects” on the economy and contributed to numerous social ills.
“They have contributed to reducing economic activity, raising unemployment, reducing schooling, causing political unrest, contributing to domestic violence, and undermining liberal democracy,” the report said.

The researchers said the timing of lockdowns, and unintended consequences, may play a larger role than expected in affecting mortality.
“Lockdowns have limited peoples’ access to safe (outdoor) places such as beaches, parks, and zoos, or included outdoor mask mandates or strict outdoor gathering restrictions, pushing people to meet at less safe (indoor) places,” they wrote. “Indeed, we do find some evidence that limiting gatherings was counterproductive and increased COVID-19 mortality.”
So in conclusion, lockdowns hurt more people than it helped. Wonder how many people have committed suicide over lockdowns or how many died due to not being able to get proper medical treatment.

And I would further argue with all of the variables in deaths and especially how they are counted and reported from state to state and country to country that this insignificant percentage is even more insignificant

Spleen is cheering for more lockdowns

How many died where being locked down played a role in their death is a number I'd love to know.

Wonder if all the MSM platforms that parroted this fake science will get canceled

And yet, in Baton Rouge, Honor Choade is hoping for a new variant that will allow him to put his boot back on our necks.

And government will still go back to lockdowns, masks, and school closures to “combat” waves. It’s insanity.

Crashed the economy also which was chugging along. The cure was worse then the problem. Thanks federal government

Another bullshite "study" to support your point of view. Its a Working Paper produced by an economist with the Cato Institute that cherry picked other "working papers" by economist .
