The number of potential college students is dropping off a cliff in the next few years.

As it needs to. If a person has to borrow 100% of tuition/board to get a mediocre job after graduation, they are not well-suited for college. Working full-time for a few years while going the community college route first will serve them FAR better financially than going straight into a 4 year university.

I guess what I mean is that students are looking for a relationship with their college. They want to love it. SEC schools are good about creating those relationships with their students that when they become "Former Students,*" they come back to campus, they donate to causes, etc. And when they are sold on the relationship or the experience, they are blinded to the cost.

Some schools are more transactional. Get in, get a degree, get a job, and its a means to an end. Where'd you go to college? Midwestern State, Mary Hardin-Baylor, Lamar, etc. They don't go back on weekends to watch football. Students at these schools can certainly get into debt, but they are less willing to justify it. Who loves Stephen F. Austin Bearcat football that much?

i see what you're saying. but i think it's more a reflection of the culture. because in the 80s, 90s, and 00s plenty of us had "relationships" and loved our school, not just A&M. the lazy rivers and luxury retreat campuses is a newer phenomenon than that

it's actually kind of shocking how few people understand this simple mathematical explanation. libs will go into absolute acrobatics to try to tell you that this isnt true, but it obviously is.

These are the same dipshits who rail, "Eat the rich!" while at the same time support Medicare/Medicaid whose only function is to shovel money into doctors' pockets.

Colleges figured out they don’t need to provide a competitive product to draw in student tuition and increase their foundation. With all of the government and loan money they needed to put butts in seats and housing and keep them there as long as possible.

Buy gray market retatrutide for $100/mo and save $500/month in food costs. Profit $400 for student loan repayment.

Does she actually think anyone would be sympathetic?

She should get a YMCA membership and do cannonballs into the pool to simulate for the poor and unfortunate what it's like being hit by waves.

Yeah, well? Lose some weight! I dont get these people. Just lose some fricking weight.
At her age, easy. Just start walking MODIFY YOUR DAMNED DIET. I weighed 238# and when I committed to really doing something about it, I dropped to (currently) 177#, most of the loss coming from walking an average of 13,000 daily steps and stopped eating 90% of the fast food, fatty foods and desserts that I was enjoying. At age 70 it's difficult. At her age. Easy.

I work with some hefty baws that could shutdown a country buffet and they manage to fit in the safety equipment. How big is this bitch?
