Let's suppose aliens are truly real - and they are watching us

Does that bring comfort? Curiosity?
Does that make the idea of God bigger?
Does it make you want to break every societal norm and go around kicking everyone in the nuts?
The Navy has officially confirmed UFO sightings in the last few weeks. It's becoming a more acceptable idea.
Do you like the idea of being "monitored" like a trout in a lake?

UFO doesn't automatically mean alien. Could be government agencies with classified aircraft.

Our government and all large corporations are already spying on us through our computers, phones, smart speakers, banks, vehicles, etc. Why would it matter if aliens are watching us too?

I absolutely believe that there is intelligent life out there. The universe is bigger than we can comprehend and to think we are the only intelligent species is a bit naive.
If there is a more intelligent species with the capability of observing us, why would they not? I would have to think in the next 500 years we will have the capability of exploring other galaxies in the same manner we are most likely being explored. Who’s to say there is not another earth like planet that is 500 or more years advanced than we are?
This same line of thinking is why I also struggle with the concept of God and religion.

If aliens were real and paying attention to our media, they would be parts flattered and horrified and enraged.
Basically doing this before getting the ray guns to save themselves from the perceived (with reason) onset of rape and/or getting shot the frick up.

I don't go around knocking down every wasp nest I see, just the ones that are too close for comfort. Up to the last 75 years or so, we've been to primitive to be a threat to anybody but ourselves. That has changed, and the pace is continuing to accelerate. Somebody may be watching us and thinking it's time to get out the wasp spray.

The nature of the Universe bugs me far more than the presence of other beings. It just makes all existence seem meaningless.
