re: Let's suppose aliens are truly real - and they are watching us

Respectfully, your reasons for the implausibility of a deity are far less thoughtful and unreasonably dismissive.
God and ghosts supposedly have no basis in the physical world and debating the possibility of their existence is pointless. Discussing logic and science with true believers in the supernatural only leads to frustration.
My point in my original post is that because E.T. and Bigfoot are not so different from what we already know about life that I would be less surprised to see one or the other turn up than I would be if Jesus appeared and started performing epic miracles.

No, it just cements that we are being lied to by every monotheistic religion, ever.
Wrong.

Outside Hollywood, real believers seem more composed. According to a 2011 study for the Royal Society, about 90 percent of believers felt that if intelligent life were to be discovered on other planets, they would not have a crisis of faith.
The truth is that religions, being in the business of understanding the place of human beings in the world, are naturally drawn to wonder at the immensity of the sky and the vastness of space.
For Catholics, enriched by Greco-Roman philosophy, the question of whether there were other worlds had a pretty early onset.
In the 13th century, Thomas Aquinas was already arguing for the existence of other worlds and beginning to wrap his mind around its theological implications in his Third Book of Sentences.

Smaller. Our spiritual beliefs are mostly predicated on the uniqueness of the human species. No one goes around saying Jesus died for caterpillars to get into heaven. It’s about our advanced intellect and ability to comprehend and worship God. An alien species that is as intelligent or more intelligent would eliminate our standing as an organism.
Why do you assume the aliens have no God? Surely the God of man would be powerful enough to be the God of aliens.

I think folks who have a deistic view would be okay, but if we hypothetically made contact with an alien civilization that was atheistic or had no views on any Earthly religion that it would make the ones that put Man as the focal point of creation seem even more obsolete.

UFO doesn't automatically mean alien. Could be government agencies with classified aircraft.
Give me a break! Out technology is not that good.

Actually the question is not whether he will appear performing miracles but, has he already done so. Executed by the State and religious powers of his time for who he claimed to be, and raised from the grave by God the Father Almighty in substantiation of his claims.

Not speaking for all of the ghost hunters and adventurers out there regarding the plausibility of ghosts intervening in the physical world, but respecting God's basis in the physical/temporal arena as we know it, he created it, has intervened in it on at least one occasion through the Incarnation of Jesus Christ and all that followed from that ultimate intervention. As frustrating as that may be to consider its possibility as a historical event in time and space, it's certainly worth your time to do so given the potential implications.
Please take my input as being offered in the spirit of a hopeful optimism that you will do your due diligence in these matters given their potential life changing consequences.
I will not trouble you further but I do wish you well.

I don't think the evidence for the divinity of Jesus (or ghosts or aliens or Bigfoot or Nessie or many other beings or phenomena that fall into the category of cryptids or the supernatural) is compelling.
I'm a skeptic.

I am 41 years old and have lived in Alabama (in the heart of the Bible Belt) all of my life. I have been an atheist since I was 19-20 years old. My views of the world are vastly different from both my culture and my relatives. I have been to Hindu, Muslim and Buddhist countries by myself with no agenda other than to explore and see how other people live. My research and exposure to religion is a lot deeper than the average Christian.
I am not a product of my culture.
That said, I have never been compelled to believe in God. Partly because I simply don't believe there's a God and partly because I don't need for there to be a God because I find plenty of meaning as it is. I live alone and get along great with other people but have no need for them. Whenever something bad happens to me I feel like I can get through it with good old fashioned mental toughness. I want to live as long as I can but know I will inevitably die and that's okay. It's been a fun ride.

That's basically impossible due to the scale of time and space. We haven't even scratched the surface of exploring the galaxy that we're in though. There's 100,000,000,000 planets in the Milky Way alone. Some estimates have it 4x that. The best case scenario over the next 500 years would be to explore a few hundred planets in our neighbor solar systems.
I hope you mean that only if we are evolving technologically on our own without help from others bc if we have help that is a crazy estimate.

Did it dawn on you that if aliens are capable of interstellar travel they may have an insurmountable technological advantage over us in a war?
Exactly, "they may". Also, they may have only developed interstellar travel recently while their weapons may be no better than ours.

The EBE’s have already proven they have total control of our nuclear weapons systems by arming and disarming them at will. If they wanted to truly hurt us they wouldn’t have to even use their warfare technology. They could destroy us with our own.
