I've lived in all the major metro areas, and with time.. I have to say, Lafayette overall has the worst traffic. Especially around the Pinhook area/Johnston St/Ambassador.

Surprisingly, UL's campus isn't that bad though.

Baton Rouge and Nola are tied to me for most aggressive drivers. I've seen some of the worst driving when backed up heading to laplace during rush hour. Baton Rouge on Perkins at 5 is a fricking nightmare.

Lake Charles has the most inept drivers, especially on the split.

Who gives a shite about alexandria.

I have no comment on Shreveport or monroe since I'm rarely there.

BR is the worst and its not close

There are plenty ways to avoid busy streets in lafayette

No way to avoid bridge in BR

Not necessarily because of traffic, but I-12 through Livingston Parish around 6:30am will make you think you're at Daytona

Driving around Monroe made me want to shoot myself every time I left campus when I was at ULM

See, I'd agree with you if not for the fact that Lafayette has no major freeway going through it to remove most of the rush hour.

And evangeline thrw isn't a justifable option since it's essentially how Youngsville and Broussard bleed into 5 oclock traffic. Plus you have everyone heading to carencro with that mess.

Pinhook is a nightmare, no legitimate ways out. You gotta either deal with South college to I-10 or connect all the way to evangeline thrw. It just blows all around. A legit freeway would free all this up.

I-12 Tchefuncte River bridge at any time of the day and you're taking a risk.

Also, and I have no idea why, trying to drive my the hospital in Bogalusa around 315PM on a weekday is absolute madness.

In my opinion, Lafayette's traffic is pretty manageable when UL isnt in Fall/Spring sessions. Baton Rouge is somewhat similar (outside of the interstate) too. I've only ever lived in Chicago, Dallas, Houston, and Tokyo so my comparisons may be skewed.

Once it clears up past carencro, you're fine.

I-10 from lafayette to Rayne is bumper to bumper, same heading the opposite direction. I'd argue that's worse.

Ferriday, Louisiana.

Two mile long nonstop speed trap with an absurd amount of red lights where cops spend their entire days looking to bust someone going five over their ridiculous speed limit or get someone on an expired inspection.

An absolute shithole of a town.

This isn't remotely true. Baton Rouge traffic is 10x worse than Lafayette.

Live in Nola, but I work a lot in BR and Laffy...between the three, traffic in BR is the worst and it’s really not even close.
