I find this data to be misleading because Los Angeles has very strict gun laws, which are well known to be effective at reducing crime. Can some fact checker hurry and debunk this for me so I can go back to pretending like there’s no correlation and that this problem doesn’t exist? Thanks.

In all fairness I am sure this is a PR move since the stats came from the police department. They are just as hungry for the money. I am not saying what was done is appropriate but people rarely look at the effectiveness or efficiency of police departments. There is so much waste that some budget cuts should be warranted. However, the belief that community programs will be a solution is laughable.
