Ford alone employees about 12,000 folks in my area. Why they have their issues, I certainly don’t want those folks unemployed.

They could relocate to the new Toyota or Kia plans, but they'd have to leave their UAW card at the door. But, since they won't do that, they can learn to code for all I care.

That’s cute, it would put every auto worker out of a job.

You can’t make cars in the us for as cheap as they do in China.

Americans are not going to stop buying cars. Toyota would fill that void quickly. There would be thousands of new jobs in right to work states.

It might put UNION workers out of a job, but since they drove their last company out of business, they kinda need to reap what they've sown.

That's not what would likely happen, especially if there is a lot of the line dedicated to something like climate control systems, etc. It'll get spun off and bought by a VC or competitor, and will continue to churn out parts to sell back to a final assembly plant in the US. It's what happened with Delco in Kokomo and my grandfather. The end user parts may be foreign, domestic, etc., whatever they need in order to get around tariffs put on MX and CA, etc.

I don't like swathes of unemployed people, either, but if you're not into corn or soybeans, you shouldn't be living in Kokomo, Indiana, anyway.

Wrong. My car was not built in china. Certainly not designed there. But yes. I own several cheap things from china and it is no big deal if they break.

Chinese cars are just loaded up with LED lights that change color, touch screens, and gaudy "style" stuff.

In my book, that is just more crap to break that costs too much to fix or replace.

I’d rather buy a Japanese or Korean car.
I have same sentiment with US automakers due to their arrogance with innovation and pricing.
But I’d never buy a Chinese car. I have moral struggles with even buying clothes now because they make most of it.

Neither was my truck, but I’m not naive to the fact that they build/make/copy most of the shite we use or the shite that goes into our cars.
