Not sure if it affects it but the Blade Battery seems to be safer, more efficient and longer lasting. I dont know a lot about the industry, but been reading about these.

The blade cells biggest advantage is in packaging flexibility. It's just an easier configuration to incorporate into the space and size constraints needed to fit in the chassis. It has slightly higher energy density, but it's not a huge needle mover because storage is always sold on a $/kWh basis, not unit.

Supposedly they are safer, less prone to burning after an accident. But I guess more time will tell.

The blade battery was officially launched by BYD in 2020. BYD claims that compared with ternary lithium batteries and traditional lithium iron phosphate batteries, the blade battery holds advantages in safety, range, longevity, strength and power.

Yeah. For me it’s bringing back old memories (‘70s thru ‘90s) of US car makers’ (especially dodge/chrysler/plymouth) shite boxes.

The pearl clutching from the idiot boomers in this thread who have literally been buying Chinese products out the arse for the last 40 years but draw the line at a vehicle is pretty funny. “Hell naw no baw I ain’t gonna drive a damn Chinese car, now let’s pack up the made in Mexico American brand car and go to Walmart- we’re out of bud light again”

Nothing made in China can have the term reliable behind it. Either because it is cheap crap or they are spying on you.

. At that price, anything Chevy-ish and above is a good deal as far as quality.

CAFE standards (unreasonable), automakers unions, corporate collusion, and excessively long patents on aftermarket parts are all a big reason the U.S. cars are expensive, complicated, unfriendly to market demands, abd generally unreliable by comparison.

I'd rather support the Mexican economy than the Chinese economy.

But my Japanese car was built in Kentucky.
