Cuts out the massive amount of for-profit middlemen. Again, we’re already paying all of this money. We know how much the car costs. You’re telling me we can’t do better than this nonsense we have right now?

Whatever you do, wait like 6 months after the procedure before you start paying anything. Ins and hospitals go back and forth on what’s approved etc.
got to wait until they figure it out

How do you think the people on Medicaid pay $0? It’s because the rest of us pay so much more. This is called socialism.

You tell me? So you are saying people should put their energy in the stupid shite and not demand elected officials focus on creating a better way to provide people with cheaper medical care?

Hire a midwife and have a home water birth. Not that hard. And way less expensive.

But if you must go to the hospital, don't sign the permission to bill your insurance.
If your doctor and hospital are "in-network" you have 364 days to bill your insurance. Tell the billing office in the hospital that you bill your own claims. It isn't difficult, and there isn't jack shite the hospital can do about it except allow you. They can't send you to collections either. Not if you tell them you're billing the claim. That'll save you a year of time to come up with the out of pocket expense. The reason hospitals volunteer to bill your insurance is for timely payment. But you get a year to file the claim. If anything, in 360 days, take the bill back to the hospital and tell them you need help billing it. They'll do it. No questions asked.

We're paying the highly inflated price set by insurance companies and Medicare. They're the reason we're paying so much.

A childbirth doesn't cost the hospital anywhere near what they're charging or near a reasonable markup.
The syringe marked at $12.00 actually costs 20 cents. The hospital can inflate it and mark it up outrageously and insurance is happy to go along (it was actually their idea) and pay it out because, as you said their rates for everyone are going to be based on these prices. So the hospitals and insurances get super rich, the people who buy insurance get screwed and the people who don't get totally fricked. It's a dirty scheme. Medicare for all is just submission to the scheme.

Every time government says we can do better and change things it tends to end up worse.

I don't understand how a sane person can see the abortion that Obamacare made the industry and go, you know what we just need more government intervention. That's before a person makes the assumption it was passed to fail, so they could usher in Single Payer.

I also don't understand giving government another avenue of punishing those they do not care for. Does Jim deserve shittier treatment because he hates Asians?

Don't pay nurses, sell the MRIs, cut the wifi, and stop feeding people in the hospital; make them get their own Door Dash. Who needs oncology doctors? A PA could do that just fine, right? Oh, wait, turn it all over to AI, savings!

Next you're going to tell us how to make universities with lazy rivers, 100" projection screens and ubiquitous Wifi free to all.

Child birth isn't the clown show most people believe. A good midwife can deliver a baby, and water births are pretty simple. The cost savings is fantastic, and mom and dad get to decide when/if what treatment is given to baby i.e, vaccinations and medicines. After, mom can always eat the placenta to boost milk production.

Wait until you find out how Medicare works…. A system whose users are by and large happy with. Do you realize how many people are on Medicare today? It’s something like 60-70 million.
