I’m very sorry for your loss. Lost my girl around this time last year.
When your dog passed, did you start a thread on here to let everyone know?
Generally curious how often people who post here lose a dog. Based on the number of members, I would assume at least one a day.

When you inject that shite into your face, it is VERY unnatural looking and you are not fooling anyone.
How about instead of wasting money to inject foreign substances into their faces, they use the money for a psychiatrist and try to find out why they are so unhappy with their life and appearance.

Possible idea for a thread title:
"Redneck Star Trek created by AI"
So then people would know what the thread is about and can decide if they want to open it.

At first glance, I thought it may have been from the 5-3-68 Columbia show, but the band is wearing different clothes.

When you order fast food through an app, they do not make your order until you arrive at the restaurant. The food is just as hot as if you ordered through the drive through or went inside to order.
A few other reasons to use the app:
1) You can choose curbside and skip the drive through line, which is more often faster.
2) The app has deals, offers & points that save money over ordering at the restaurant.
3) Accuracy is often better through the app since you eliminate the middleman taking your order who will potentially key it in wrong.

re: Who owes taxes this year and is waiting to file?
Posted by GreatestStory on 2/18/25 at 1:52 pm to NatalbanyTigerFan
TurboTax charges way too much and it goes up every year.
FreeTaxUSA is pretty much the exact same software and it is free to file federal taxes online. The only thing they charge for is $14.99 to file your state taxes.
I entered my info into both programs and my taxes/deductions/refund were identical on both platforms.
I started using FreeTaxUSA a couple years ago and feel like an idiot for not switching sooner.

Not so much the payout but that discovery will involve exploring how federal grants were spent.
I would bet the money was spent and documented correctly.
The problem is the contractors that overcharged for the work and then gave kickbacks to the person who awarded them the work.

The thing that makes me the most angry was the order to arrest fathers who tried to save save/rescue their daughters.
It is also very sad that none of this is being covered by the media.

did you have to be excused from the table when you were a kid?
Yes, I did growing up.
My children also asked, “May I be excused” until they were teenagers. Once they were teenagers and realized how to read the table, wait until everyone was finished eating and starting to engage in casual conversation, they were allowed to say, “I’ll excuse myself”.
Edit to add: my kids are both adults now (one with two kids). Both my son and daughter (no pics) have thanked me for instilling manners in them.
To all parents: it doesn’t cost one cent to teach your children manners.

Insurance should be a big pot of money which people pay into which is used to pay claims and operating expenses of the insurance company. After everything is paid and there is still excess money, that means they charged too much for premiums.
Instead, insurance has turned into companies that make money for it's shareholders. Look at these net incomes in the billions every year and continually increasing:
2023: UnitedHealth Group's net income was approximately $23.14 billion. Their revenue grew by $47.5 billion, or 14.6%, to $371.6 billion. Operating income was $32.4 billion, which is a 13.8% increase.
2022: UnitedHealth Group's net income was $20.6 billion, and their annual revenue was $324.16 billion.
2021: UnitedHealth Group's net income was $17.3 billion.
2020: UnitedHealth Group's net income was $15.4 billion.
2019: UnitedHealth Group's net income was $13.8 billion.

Can’t believe no one has mentioned:

Calling an outfit “fit”
Saying someone deserves “their flowers”
Agree with the previously mentioned words/phrases:
Unhoused
Cringe
Bae
Bussin
Yeet

re: “College educated”

Not only is college ridiculous, so is high school and elementary school.
I suggest sending your children to kindergarten only, then pulling them out of school and getting them a lemonade stand. That will not only give them a 16 year head start on their peers, but also set them up for life.
Also, you may want to consider getting out a little more if your parents are the two smartest people you know.

gas or induction, all other cook tops can get fricked
Has to be gas at our house. Induction doesn't work with Magnalite cookware, only with with ferrous metal cookware.
How to check: if a magnet does not stick to the cookware, it will not work on an induction cooktop.
