Was not expecting that as the first reply.
90’s were awesome but these adults were just kids at the time. They grew up when smart phones were just getting started. It’s the next generation that I worry about. 90’s kids may just marry a bit later than normal. Family life is a great way to live, they need to get with the program.

Kind of makes sense. Roughly 60% of them are still in their 20s.

In related news, divorce lawyers go into major panic mode....

With how much that age group has had the BS they have beaten into them about woke stuff, the women empowerment BS, the DEI crap in work places.
Much less seeing how bad a guy gets beat down in family court over child support. Whether a man likes it or not, it doesn’t matter how much you want the marriage to work or you don’t believe in divorce for religious reasons, if a woman wants to leave, there is nothing you can do.
So with all that, why would they be excited about marriage?

We had that thread on this board the other day: “what do we do right now that will be seen as crazy in 50 years”
I could see marriage being a 12 seed in that bracket and making a deep run
For a number of reasons, people just don’t want or need it the way they used to

If folks would wait until 30 to get married and have kids, we'd all be better off.

Marriage is a huge financial risk for men and the social stigma of unmarried relationships no longer exist. Until the risk is fixed, I don't see marriage rates increasing anytime soon.

I'll take what happens when you destroy the middle class for 600 Alex

i think it is going to be the other way around
a bunch of milliennal and zoomers are going to get pissy when they are trying buy a house and pay for IVF cause marriage was put off for so long
i don't think this delay is a personal freedom choice and more an economic one.

Self extinguishing. They have been told it is totally awesome while the boomers eat everything in sight.

The boomers made all their daughters get fat and listen to rap music and didn’t bring them to church

Also, there's just too much happening in the first 25 years of life that is corrosive to marriage and it significantly limits the window of "eligibility", especially for women.
Dating was never supposed to be something people do for years or just casually for fun/distraction. It was always meant to be a precursor to marriage.
As of now people are much more proficient and comfortable with casual dating and really have no clue how to find a long term match.

my wife and I were born in the 90s and 30% of my wife and I’s friends being married is spot on. But 100% part of the reasoning is age. Some are engaged and most of them will be married at some point. No doubt some of my friends are complete idiots though and not sure if anyone will ever want to marry them
