There is a band steady streaming over SELA...pushing wind and water.
On the east side this happens. That band will eventually fade and the winds will slack the farther away it gets.

Pretty damn bad as to be expected, but there are a bunch of camps/homes still standing.

Louisiana and say Pe-CAN
I was at a conference in Memphis and sales rep from Oregon one night after dinner was telling all of us if you want some great Pe-can pie go to the little bakery next to the restaurant we were eating at. Another rep that is originally from Houma told him Pe-Cans are them blue things on a job site.

Thanks. And I know this. And it could be worse, so I’m not complaining.
But watching water rise around your home is no fun.

I know that feeling all too well. It shouldn't have much rise left at least.

take a butt ton of pics, then take a butt ton more. Document everything down to the penny and receipts for anything you do between now and when they cut you a check.

Below is a view from the ground. Some news speak but he said that someone had water in their home even though it looks like it wasn't touched much.

Marco and Laura radar loop
Watching that shows how a very slight change in Laura's motion a few hours before landfall may have prevented a much worse surge in Lake Charles itself.

Laura pops up on that radar loop like:

for anyone interested... twitter video from USGC flying west along 82 - white lake to cameron. For reference, the video appears to start directly south of Little Pecan Lake. At about 33 seconds, you see the structures at Rockefeller WR.

Imagine if Laura had been a little further west like Rita...
