Last night I went on Google map to see just how far south and how large Cameron was. Also the reference to the RV there. If you want to see how many RV parks were east of town, go to google earth, Cameron Parish and switch to Satellite view. And keep going east because there were a lot of them, From those aerial views, not there now, at all.

The only non-whites were holding serving trays.

So there would have only been some roof damage if someone hadn't hired a terrible mason?

From 2016 flood experience with some of our properties, take a butt ton of pics, then take a butt ton more. Document everything down to the penny and receipts for anything you do between now and when they cut you a check.
We easily got 15 to 20 thousand more than some of our adjacent property owners due to the massive amount of documentation we had, they even reimbursed us for our time cleaning up and securing everything.
When they send you your report from the adjuster, make sure everything was measured correctly, etc. If you disagree with anything’s valuation work with the adjuster to revise their report. That is where all those pics, receipts, etc. came in to help us get the correct amount and not the low ball numbers the adjuster first sent.
Also, make sure you take any measures you can to safely mitigate any further damages. They tried to knock us for that until we showed them the time / date stamps on the pics of our cleanup / mitigation efforts combined with the receipts for cleanup supplies, materials, crew labor. That proved we took all possible steps as soon as we were able.
I can’t remember the app I used on my phone But there is one that automatically time and date stamps the pics for the iPhone.
As tough as this will sound, remember it is a marathon not a sprint with the insurance companies. Don’t do like some of our neighbors and give in to quickly for a quick check, they left tens of thousands on the table they could have had to rebuild if they would have stuck it out.

Have they announced a death or casualty toll yet?
Hopefully everyone made it safe.

There is a band steady streaming over SELA...pushing wind and water.
We need a westerly or north-westerly wind to push this water out.

4 as of the governors press conference this afternoon. I’d expect it to be much higher

A lot of destruction, but a lot of newer construction held up. Pretty amazing that some buildings appear to be unharmed.
