I remember going to BSL three years after Katrina and it was still an absolute disaster. The bridge was still out and the casino boat was till pushed up against the shore.
Still a shite load of empty lots and slabs across the MS Gulf Coast, even 15 years later.

There has been a lot of national guard activity around the airport in Lafayette this week leading up to the storm. I guess that's the closest larger base they can mobilize from to get to those areas near LC and south of LC. They have a ton of buses staged near the Kopter parking lot and the Air National Guard mobilization center on wheels is stationed there as well.

Looking at historical tracks at landfall, Laura may split the difference between Rita/Audrey both just east of the border west of Johnsons Bayou and a 1886 Cat 3 that was about 10 miles east of there just west of Holly Beach

I have some friends in the area who got fricked in Rita, then flooded in Harvey and whatever that storm was last year.

Way too quiet on the Northshore. I kinda don't like this. I feel like she's going to spin around and punch us in the mouth with an outer band.

I've noticed that the backside eyewall is sort of weakening on radar. The front side is still terrible looking. Would like rds or Duke to give their thoughts? Could an EWRC be happening?
