TWC interviewed someone 87 year old dude that was gonna ride it out on Holly Beach. Darwin had a name for the “ride it out” crowd.
Is there anyway someone could survive that?

Guy who rode it out in Port Eads at end of south pass was never found.
Such a crazy story. Whenever I pass that lighthouse I think of how what was going through that guys head.

I can’t imagine staying for anything like this. I was taking with my kids how at one time people had no clue shite like this was headed their way. I don’t think kids get that technology wasn’t always around.

I find mild comedic value in listening to the WeatherNation mets butcher LA town and parish names

Yeah for a CAT 4-5 I would drive until I found a hotel or slept in my truck.
Sure easy to say that, but what if you don't own any wheels or even drive? Yes, there are folks like that out there. Sad.

shite's about to get relatively real in Morgan City, New Iberia, and Lafayette with this band. Conditions are deteriorating all along the SWLA coast now too, and they won't stop for another 8 or so hours. Damn.

man i read a story real similiar to this aftwerwards:
guys house floated off the slab/piers and went out into the bayou (chef pass i believe) he had a picture window up on his ceiling/wall in his living room and it was like an aquarium.
got on top and the nutria alligators etc all were sitting right next to each other with no trouble, almost cuddled up. it went down when the wind switched around after the eye passed.
I genuinely, like in the deepest part of my being, pray for the people and their families that stayed behind.

Dude on Weathernation just tried to pronounce Amite and then played it off like he got it right.
He said ah-might
Then he said Louisianians say it I-might
