Anybody know of any good videos of what lake Charles looked like after Rita?

Dad and sisters are in Welsh. Tried to talk him into going to brothers house in Laffy. Too worried about “looters”. Like he has anything worth everyone dying for. Only reason they are stayingis because of him.

145 at final approach
JBE said the water will be over I10 by the beach/bridge soon.
Between that 145 MPH, and 18' surge pushing up the lakes and rivers RIP my house.

Laura is already causing big waves in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach this morning. Also causing flooding on the west end of Dauphin Island.

All signs point to this being worse than Rita for SW Louisiana. I’m praying that that’s not the case, though.
I think Rita was really slow-moving (less than 10 MPH) which caused a lot of problems. Laura seems to be moving pretty quick (16mph) as of now.

That doesn't seem wise.

145 at landfall would be the strongest landfall in LA since Camille, right?

Lake Charles had street flooding, roof damage, storm surge around the lake and a shite pile of utility poles down. Almost all the roadways were blocked by downed utility poles. We had to use chainsaws to cut up utility poles to reach my property south of town.

I remember Governor Dumb Bel saying the state wasn’t opening any shelters because of stupid COVID which sounds like a bullshite excuse to me. This ought to come back and bite him in the arse hard.
Parishes can open them if they want. I say frick social distancing guidelines at this point.

I just finished moving all my patio furniture and other stuff behind my house in Katy. I’m getting more worried the larger this thing gets. Better hit the hub and work that blue chew out of your system before you lose power bruh
I live in Katy as well and I have my sprinklers on because we probably won't get any rain from this.
