I don't even have a meme or gif for this. It just feels inappropriate for the situation.

This is horrible news, and I hope everyone is getting out of the way. shite.

Is this even a thing outside of Katrina/Harvey?

Like it may happen, but is it widespread enough to be a legitimate reason for someone to stay in Lake Charles or some shite?

Someone asked for the H conversion. It’s a poorly worded joke.

Lake Charles had street flooding, roof damage, storm surge around the lake and a shite pile of utility poles down. Almost all the roadways were blocked by downed utility poles. We had to use chainsaws to cut up utility poles to reach my property south of town.
Did the area around the Stine on Nelson st flood? TIA.

Are hotels full all over? How is the evacuation going? It’s horrible that they aren’t opening shelters. There are a lot of people I’d imagine in Lake Charles who will need safe shelter and can’t comfortably afford hotels right now. No offense to lake Charles. I think this would be the case in any south Louisiana town about to get hit by a cat 4. The covid shutdown has ruined a lot of small businesses. A lot of People likely don’t have extra spending money.

That was the moment I had the least amount of hope in that man. I told myself “he really doesn’t have a fricking clue how to coach a team, huh.”

Glad to be wrong lol

I had a townhouse in that area at the time that didn't flood but we had lots of wind damage and rain damage inside after the roof was peeled off.

I don't remember much flooding from Rita in LC except for around the lake. The storm surge pushed up to the Gibstown bridge through the marshes but came up the river into the lakes in town.

I don’t think a lot of looting will be an issue in lake Charles. It’s still got that small town feel. At least it did back in 2003-2005 when i lived there. It’s definitely not a reason to rude it out there!

I live about 400 ft from the Lake and there is a gulley in the backside of my hood that flooded badly during Rita from all the debris piling up in it. Not good.

I just remembered all of the plants right by the water. Is there a levee system for those?
