I grew up on the Teche. Directly across the bayou is the hospital. We never flooded. The bayou has gotten to the back steps but never under the house.

I don’t recall any friends ever flooding either. There was a lot of flooding from Rita along the abbeville highway south of catholic high, though. But Rita was “special”

If you haven’t had bon creole’s Sunday bbq dinner, be sure to try it.

I need a link showing that shelters are not open.

See my previous post on this. There are loca buses taking people out of Cameron/Calcasieu parishes because there is not a safe place to shelter.

All signs point to this being worse than Rita for SW Louisiana. I’m praying that that’s not the case, though.
