We got any New Iberia people in here? I'm new to town and curious what I can expect as far as what areas handle storms/rains/etc better or worse.

I’m from new Iberia. What areas are you looking at? It’s so small there’s not much to choose from.

Yea I got out yesterday because I figured leaving today would be a nightmare as many people waited until the last minute.

Rita evac had people taking 11 hours to reach Alexandria from LC. Normally a 1.5 hour drive. I imagine today will be much the same.

Prayers for those in traffic during this.

Not sure why but I'm in Houston and the adrenaline is maxed out right now

Maybe I shouldn't have taken that blue chew

I just finished moving all my patio furniture and other stuff behind my house in Katy. I’m getting more worried the larger this thing gets.

Better hit the hub and work that blue chew out of your system before you lose power bruh

I’m trying to keep it within plausible things. Obviously you hope the whole thing falls apart, but that’s just not going to happen.

Yea, of course. It’s somewhat strange how easily I’ve come to terms with the plausibility of losing my house

18' surge would be worse than Rita, no? I know my friends who didn't flood for Rita use that as a base line in Lake Charles, but they got out and didn't take any chances yesterday.

That's true

I guess it was kind of a dumb question as most of it will handle the same. Just never rode out any weather down here, I know it won't be insane or anything. I was just trying to get an idea.

You’re fine. Might lose power, but not much else to worry about. Rain could be heavy but it should be relatively brief too. Not 2016 numbers or anything like that.

It really is a nice area. I loved growing up in ptown. I left for college a few years ago and move up to wichita after graduating but there's nothing like the people of the tri city.

Because he belongs to another party? Take it to the Poli Board, man. Everybody on the same team here, trying to help everyone out.

No they didn't, they do shite like that on purpose. As if the situation isn't already dramatic enough

Is what it is. I’m lucky that I’ve got enough free hotel points from years of traveling 200+ nights per year that I could possibly just buy a hotel

Of course, Bel Edwards is human garbage and already point blame and politicizing it. Karma can't happen fast enough to that man.

Stop it. It’s the local governments job to call for evacuation. Do you want the governor, who you do not like, to be making evacuation orders?

Its gonna be windy AF and rainy for a little while, followed by 3-5 days of sweltering heat and 100% humidity while your power is out. Welcome to your first hurricane
