There are a bunch of big oak trees behind my rent house.
Your rent house-like you own it and rent it out? Ouch.
As opposed to living in it as a renter?

I'm gonna go with 130
I’m going to go ahead and call my shot with landfall. Really going out on a limb with 14 hours to go, but I’ll try to get very specific - Rutherford Beach takes the first eyewall/land interaction.

120-125 current. Not sure how aggressive they'll be on the current winds.
I'd bet on a 130-135 max to put it in Cat 4 territory.

I have people riding it out in Ragley and Moss Bluff.
Getting out now is going to be a nightmare.

The KPLC weather app shows it hitting cat 4 briefly today but returning to a cat 3 right at landfall

Of course, Bel Edwards is human garbage and already point blame and politicizing it. Karma can't happen fast enough to that man.

It might be 2 weeks before we get power back to Lake Charles. I might as well drive to somewhere to get out of this hot arse Austin weather.

We got any New Iberia people in here? I'm new to town and curious what I can expect as far as what areas handle storms/rains/etc better or worse.

I’m trying to keep it within plausible things. Obviously you hope the whole thing falls apart, but that’s just not going to happen.

Stout did you get out? I’m guessing so since you said you needed power for work.

Everyone in lake chuck leaving i hope? She’s looking pretty, in a mean-pretty kind of way. :(
I’m hoping and praying that the shear upon land approach will knock her down some.
I know I’ll get downvotes galore for this, but Louisiana seems to be lucky SOMETIMES with storms. I can recall three times in my lifetime going to bed expecting a Cat 3/4 then waking up to meteorologists saying oh it was infiltrated by unexpected dry air etc and is now a 1. I can’t remember the name of the storms but 2 of the times the meteorologists were really baffled because whatever happened was not in the cards. It wasn’t something they even thought was possible- not like the ridge did this early or a low did that late etc. They were literally scratching their heads.
I’m convinced the people of Louisiana pray more than most. if you’re a praying man or woman, pray. With so many struggling from the covid shutdowns, a strong cat 3 is just wrong.

Man, I hope people in Southwest LA are getting out of the way. Between surge at the coastline and all of the rivers and marshes, flooding will probably be catastrophic.

When I posted that Cantore was live and they were showing an aerial flyover of I 10. One direction was completely bumper to bumper whereas the other was wide open
That was from yesterday; wasn't contraflow, just traffic of people getting the eff out.
Weather Channel fugged up the labeling on the video that you seent.

If it’s low, you might be in for trouble. The area near port of Iberia is really low. And NI floods as it is just from rain.
