She went hard on him.
She's wrong while being right.
I understand why she's upset. I also know if the SWB billed $130m. It really means they are owed $100 as that software has been way off.
I know a girl in a two bedroom shotgun whose water bill went from $80 a month (which is high to me) to getting a $3500 bill for one month.
No leaks either.
Software screwing people.

To steady the ship, Cantrell has been trying to broker a deal in Baton Rouge that would see the utility — which has warned that its drainage system could be broke before the year is out — get both a one-time infusion of emergency cash and tens of millions of dollars more a year in tax money that would be redirected to it from hospitality and tourism agencies.
they're not even asking for a loan. they could put this up for a bond if they REALLY couldn't manage otherwise, but they won't
this is so infuriating
you frick it up
you continue to run a shitty service
you rack up an insane deficit and can't correct it, and you then just go "you have to ignore all of that. think of our city (and the children)!"
this shite makes me legit mad. it's one of the few political issues that boils my blood. Flint was the same thing. how these local politicians have the balls to try to skirt responsibility and try to frame the argument in such a way that it's wrong to point it out is fricking insane

I haven’t seen a breakdown of the money owed yet. It might be out there and I haven’t read all the responses. The reason I say this is because the S&WB collects the trash money for the city. Residents know they can pay their bill minus the trash part and their water will never be shut off. I am wondering how much of this unpaid amount is for trash. The city has always tried to take over the S&WB. So they might be trying to make them look even worse when it is really on the city.

She just can’t help it, can she?

How do they have $134M in unpaid bills?
You don't pay the water bill, shut the water off. If you don't have consequences to not paying a bill, then why would you pay it?
Because their ability to provide any bill yet alone accurate bills became so fatally flawed that it was impossible to hold the payer accountable.

Bankrupt the S&WB and sell the damn thing off to a private enterprise and let them take it over. This is the only way to clean the damn deck. The City needs to get out of the business of managing Sewerage & Water because they suck at it.

Did they hire accountants from Grambling to handle billing?
