Dumbass, all of those examples are the opposite of the analogy you want to make. We were the occupying forces in those countries. Russia intends to be that here. But yes, I agree this very well may result in a(nother) Afghanistan, Vietnam , or Iraq for Russia.

This puts them really close to cutting the main rail line from Belgorod to Izium at Vovchansk. If they can push through a little further to the south and reach Kapyansk, then it cuts the next closest rail line into the Izium pocket. They are 50km from Kapyansk and 11km from Vovchansk.

Just saw a nice breaking news update from Malcontent News. Kharkiv has gone more than 24 hours without a single artillery explosion or rocket. They are cautiously optimistic that daily life can resume some level of normalcy if this continues.

There’s no rail-lines further south in the East?
I doubt Russia would give it up so easily if it was that vital to success.

Russia sent in their armored columns without infantry screens. I absolutely expect them to do stupid shite like give up vital rail lines after witnessing that amazing display of stupidity.

According to this map of the Ukrainian Railway system, if the two lines headed into Kapyansk go down, the next option is FAR to the east.
Kapyansk is a critical junction

It's pretty clear that they're withdrawing out of the Kharkiv region to focus on the Southeast where they're having major success.
Let me guess, they never planned to hold Kharkiv and it was just to distract Ukraine forces just like the failed assault on Kyiv?

Possibly. Seems like a good idea to bog down a lot of their forces up north.

You do realize how small the Russia's gains have been and how long it has taken them to achieve them, don't you? It might look like a large area on the map but Russia has only advanced about 50 kms in a theatre of war where just the front line is approximately 300 km long, and encompasses 53,000 square kms which is about the size of Louisiana or Alabama. If Russia keeps at it at this pace then it will secure Donbas theatre just in about 6 months. Unless of course Ukraine gets resupplied from the west and completes mobilization which it should do by then.

I see a ton of railways in the East and South. Makes sense they’re retreating from one way up North that’s of less use.

None of those railways in the East supply the Izium area where the majority of the Russian combat power is deployed.

Do you know where the Russian primary staging and supply area is, it's in Belgorod. The rail lines out of Belgorod are the most important railways on the map right now.
Your posts are so detached from any understanding of what's going on you must just be trolling, it's the only rational explanation.

Nah, he's so vested in being Anti-Biden that he's blind to things like you mentioned. If it's not brought up by Team Anti-Biden at All Costs, which is mostly fueled by Russian propaganda, it doesn't exist.
He's 100% team Magastan, and if you aren't team Magastan, you're team Wokeistan and therefore support Biden.

There is over a Division of US military power sitting in Poland alone.
Belarus don't want that heat.

What a joke. No one, not the Russians, not the Belarusians, no one believes this. They are just required to say it.
Russia and its few friends obviously did not read Vaclav Havel's takedown of the Eastern European method of mandatory lying as a means of demonstrating loyalty, even when everyone, including the speaker, knows that what you are saying is a lie.
