Unless you served in a different military than I did, that’s exactly what intervention would look like. Though, I suppose I did fail to mention moving the rest of the Eisenhower strike group into the Black Sea.

It’s dumb because you go straight hyperbole.
“Isolationist” is clearly saying “that’s not our problem GL HF”; not everything short of making amphibious landings and carpet bombing Russian columns.
We’re doing exactly what we should be doing right now….and that’s still intervention.

That was going through a massive recession that only European wars reversed.
Our military, which is the topic of this discussion, numbered less than 200,000 men. The French, Germans, and Russians were losing forces larger than that over the course of a month. So yes, we were hardly a regional power.

I happen to agree.
It isn’t “straight to hyperbole” when the discussion a few pages back was if we don’t send in troops or are afraid of getting our servicemen killed, then we’re just being isolationists.

This is interesting. These are satellite photos supposedly of dolphin pens for dolphins Russia is using to guard its port in Sevastapol from divers.
Of course you know what this means - we must now supply the Ukrainians with sharks with laser beams (or at least ill-tempered sea bass).

Because in regards to our general position within the global community, we were objectively a major power at that point in time and arguably the strongest country in the world
