NATO always has one. I guess it says something about NATO vs. Warsaw Pact (or whatever is the post-1991 equivalent) in that we tolerate the existence of dissent. If Belarus dissented against Putin like this, the President of Belarus would be poisoned with Cobalt within the hour.

Yep, back in the day, the Soviets would send in paratroopers and/or tanks to Eastern Europe and next thing they'd know, they were involuntary members of the Warsaw Pact.

Hungary wants its empire back like Russia, although it was really Austria's empire and Hungary was only a very junior partner.

Interesting breakdown regarding Zelensky not in being control of Azov militia and by extent of Ukraine forces.
You had their spokesperson issue demands and refuse to follow orders on camera. There were alleged death threats against Zelensky from Azov as well.
Something tells me Zelensky is hoping most of Azov doesn't make it out of this war.

What I saw from the screenshot was from 2019, so a good chunk of the little Hiltletrs are probably dead now. Why post something from almost 3 years ago before Russia actually invaded Ukraine for real?

The close-mindedness of few neocons in this thread is really amusing. It's either groupthink or you're a Putin's stooge.
I already told TigerDoc that I would absolutely not rule out Putin's false flag attack in Russia in 1999 when residential buildings were blown up. There is a high likelyhood Putin and KGB were behind it because it was a pretext for Chechnya war. It made no sense for Chechens to blow random targets that would only give Russian military a green light to go scorched earth there.

According to most reports, Azov is the reason Mariupol seige hasn't ended. They are still many Azov leaders all along the Eastern front and besieged in Mariupol.
They are Ukraine's war dogs, and I suspect they have great deal of pull.

I backed out of this topic nearly 100 pages ago. I came in to read a few pages tonight and it's like the poliboard decided to invade tOT.
A few things seem pretty evident. Putin gutted cities, wrecklessly destabilized the Chernobyl exclusion zone, destroyed a plane used mostly for carrying non-military cargo, and committed countless war crimes. All for sport as he's now moved to the east. This is why you don't appease tyrants.
The world should've never let Putin get away with his hostile takeover of the Crimea and his support of rebels in East Ukraine. We are now looking at a prolonged war. Instead of giving Ukraine what they need to drive Russia out, we are letting the faucet drip. A hot stalemate lines the pockets of the military industry without the cost of American lives. The media seems to be settling in for the long haul as they've pulled most of their conflict reporters and replaced them with reporters who generally work in overseas bureaus.
