They're civilians with no military background, yet act like they know what they're talking about.

Then they'll respond with "you were just a grunt" or "you were just a peon".

Maybe I am just a peon, but this peon spent two years working at the COCOM (EUCOM specifically) level on over ten different CONPLANs. Gives you a bit of perspective on what it takes to fight a war.

Ukraine is already in the process of mobilizing 900,000 reserve troops and conscripts. Plus Ukraine has open rail and road connections from its borders with NATO countries, it’s supply depos and the front lines.

So, we pretty much know everything for both sides is moving to the Donbas. What happens if Russia does actually lose this battle? What do you think Putin does? Is there a scenario where Russia loses this war and Putin is removed somehow? Just not seeing how this war ends well.

Putin is dumb if he doesn’t keep a significant force in range of Kyiv to tie down as many Ukrainian units as possible there.

Looks like that's kinda what he did. They pulled back to Belarus and Russia and have continued to bomb Kharviv and Volynsky. Haven't seen reports of bomb sirens in Kyiv but did see this.

??Ukraine’s military: 16 sabotage groups caught in Kyiv in past 2 days.

Oleksandr Hruzevych, deputy chief of staff of Ukraine’s Ground Forces, said that some of the members of the sabotage and reconnaissance groups are recruited Ukrainians.

Based on the first month’s worth of fighting, I would argue that Putin’s ppl are dumb.

True but most of the armor and equipment that those troops didn’t leave in Ukraine is on trains heading in the direction of the Donbas per open source intelligence.

Plus Ukraine has relatively direct railroad and road routes from Kyiv to the fronts on the east. It is roughly 730km from Kyiv to the front in the donbass. Russia has to move its troops and equipment from around Gomel and Mazry im Belarus down a two lane highway within artillery range of the Ukrainian border, or send its troops and equipment by road and/or rail to Minsk => Moscow => the Donbas. That’s about twice the distance as Ukrainian logistics route.

I have a Ukrainian co-worker who believes the Ukrainian soldiers and fighters are so upset now that even Zelensky can’t call them off if there is a settlement of some sort. As much as the Russians won’t stop, the Ukrainians don’t care about a enduring war either

Haven't thought about this. Those guys in the thick of it may not give up. Fighting if there is an agreement made and Russians don't leave quickly... Ride or die ya know.

Russia has time on its side. It is the aggressor with greater resources. Russia can disengage anywhere it wants along the front, reallocate resources, and go on the attack again. It has complete command of Black Sea coast and generally has air superiority. Russian can sit back and spend the next six months concentrating on degrading the ability of the Ukrainian armed forces. Russia does not have to win the war this month or even this year, it simply has to win.

Russias economy is in the shitter despite being the aggressor and away team. The war has absolutely not gone as they expected. They don’t have more resources than Ukraine because Ukraine has basically the whole west supplying them with superior tech and intelligence. Ukraine is motivated, Russia is not domestically. Russia doesn’t have quality resources. The longer this goes, the worse it is for them, not better.

Russia does have more people though. Eventually Ukraine is gonna start running short of dudes that are physically capable of carrying a javelin around the woods

And the javelin is a thicc bitch to be lugging around

I think Putin will run out of tanks before Ukraine runs outta baws to tote Javelins.

ETA: On a separate note, there's been reports of Raytheon and Lockheed execs masturbating themselves to death.
