It looks like things are about to heat back up around Mykolaiv.

I guess when they realized they couldn't even take a surrounded Chernihiv, Kyiv was a little too ambitious.

Was just about to post that.

Should be read as Ukraine is "radically" reducing Russia's military offensive near Kyiv and Moscow wants you to think this is all part of the plan.

Gotta save face somehow since they weren’t met with parades and flowers like they were told

A few more points from the talks this morning (from Nexta_TV)
ETA: Looks like Ukraine really wants that no-fly zone....

I don’t understand how politicians can’t learn to think before speaking in public especially when speaking about foreign policy or military. They don’t have to lie or only tell people what the people want to hear, only stick to the talking points, etc. Just think about what you are going to say and how you say it. If you can’t figure out what to say just say “let me get back to you.”

This side https://www.oryxspioenkop.com/ has been tallying all the equipment losses on both sides via social media. Each individual "loss" has been verified. It's the best summary site I've seen to this point.

Any graphics that you guys can post from it would be great, cant get on that site at the moment

Go talk about the border in your own thread if you'd like. You've derailed this one enough.

Here is the summary:
Naval Losses as of 3/24
quote:
Russia - 3, of which: destroyed: 1, damaged: 2
quote:
Ukraine - 13, of which: sunk: 2, captured: 11
Aircraft Losses as of 3/20:
quote:
Russia - 70, of which: destroyed: 58, damaged: 4, abandoned: 2, captured: 6

Ukraine - 22, of which: destroyed: 19, damaged: 1, captured: 2

Attack On Europe: Documenting Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine
Russia - 2050, of which: destroyed: 1019, damaged: 38, abandoned: 233, captured: 760
Ukraine - 574, of which: destroyed: 225, damaged: 16, abandoned: 37, captured: 296
The interesting thing with these numbers is when you look at Ukrainian losses, weighed against what they've captured, it's a net gain for them.

Just for shits and gigs can you post the source of that photo?
LINK
According to the Washington Examiner, it's a "photo from the European Pressphoto Agency." 100% not photoshopped. It's amazing the legitimacy was even questioned. Anyone paying attention to this president knows this is common for him.

Tanks (330, of which destroyed: 144, damaged: 6, abandoned: 42, captured: 138)
This is a full quarter of the tanks Russia was estimated to have directed to this war effort. I wonder what the real number is.

This happens when you have a compliant media that has chosen a side. The "leaders" from that side rarely have to defend their positions or monitor what they say.

Putin had as many as 20,000 Russian troops stationed in the two occupied regions of Georgia. I bet he has had to pull them out and send them to Ukraine. They have been building military stations there and continue to move the border fences from the established lines of 2008 stealing more of Georgia's land.

I'm not sure if this is the same website. And if it is, if they're still doing it, but for every vehicle they claimed destroyed/abandoned/captured they would only count it with photographic evidence. There was a separate page where you could go through and view each individual vehicle/ship/aircraft.
Of course, how they verify the authenticity of each photo...I don't know. I'm sure it isn't a complete and accurate assessment of losses during this war but there is at least something to back up their claims.

I quoted from Oryx.
I see these numbers as the confirmed lower bound. It’s also lagging data. That’s why I wonder what the real number is right now.

Yeah that's it. You can click on each vehicle that it lists and they show you a picture or video of it.
quote:
This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available.
Like I said, not sure how they verify the photos, but it's at least more than just a number pulled from who knows where.
