I don't see a way out of this for Putin...

Kennedy said there was a 33-50% chance of nuclear war during the Cuban Missile Crisis. If you really think about it and process this situation, it is much, much worse.

Have you not seen the paths Putin takes to conserve his own life? I just don't see him doing something like nukes as an option.

You mean paths like invading Ukraine with consequences laid out to him before the war even started? The man doesn't give a damn about his life. Watching recent clips of him, he may have a degenerative disease, which was reported but unconfirmed a couple years back.

So the threat of Russia planting nukes 90 miles off our coast wasn’t as bad as the present situation?

You could argue Putin is trying to absorb Ukraine for the potential same reason. But it's even worse, Russia's economy has been nuked with no chance of recovery for decades, Russians are turning on him, and Putin is becoming even more isolated abd angry. He has already sent his family to a secure location. The stakes are much higher here because Putin has no way out unlike having a situation like the Cuban Missle Crisis where negotiating to remove nukes close to Russia seems like an obvious point of deescalation in hindsight. That and Putin has more power/ego than Kruschev and would be less willing to back down. Thus is tragic because that's Putin's only option and that's not happening based on his past.

Also think there's a strong chance that after Ukraine, Putin tries to take Lithuania and make a land bridge to Kaliningrad. Having Russia in central Europe would undermine the EU and NATO. With nothing to lose, it's less likely that NATO stands for a country like Lithuania versus Poland, and it's the next best strategic move. That alone could trigger an exchange with way more possibilities for nuclear war outweighing the chances for deescalation. It just takes one slip up.

So Putin is so far gone (your opinion) that he has sent his family away to a secure location (presumably nuke proof) and will hit SEND any day now? Well then nothing will stop it so why worry about it?

I don’t believe any of that so I’ll just wait and see.

personally i do not believe they have more than half a dozen and a dozen at the absolute most of working nukes. you can go look at thier budget(i posted the numbers in the thread a couple hundred pages ago) and you absolutely can tell they have not spent the funds it takes to upkeep them.

I think he knows they have so few and that he will not waste them and will use them as absolute last resort.

not to mention the money that has been stolen that was supposed to go to upkeep on nukes. based off the lack of maintenance and the outright lies abotu their tech....yea i dont beleive they will do shite. i think putin is looking for a way out now.

If he eventually takes Ukraine, he'll have so many men and resources tied up in trying to hold it that trying to take over another country, especially a NATO one, will be extremely difficult.

It’s a matter of time until they do take Ukraine. It’s the largest country in Europe so it will take some time. They have to first capture all of the major cities in the East, Odessa, and then surround Kyiv from the South.

They will reincorporate it into Russia and rebuild it. Putin essentially said so when saying Russia was stupid for letting Ukraine split in the early 20th century.

Afghanistan is thousands of miles away from the US with a different language and culture.

Ukraine has been apart of Russia in the past and has the same culture and language.

Don’t think that the CIA infiltrating it for a a few decades makes it on the same playing field as a random middle eastern country. Not even close.

They'll sure as hell try, but I don't see it going well for them

Stop smoking weed. It’s making you paranoid. Switch to Xanax or vodka.
