He scrapped Obama's nuclear deal because the Israelis hated it because it allowed enrichment. It also did nothing to curb their ballistic missiles.

Trump could have had another deal if he allowed Iran to enrich to 3.75% but he said none because the Israelis said none.

I'm sure that's why Obama's closest buddies were far to the left of the Chinese Communist Party.

G7 allies push for stronger Russia sanctions as Trump resists, Bloomberg reports

by Olena Goncharova June 18, 2025 12:46 AM

A dinner discussion among Group of Seven leaders on June 16 failed to shift U.S. President Donald Trump’s position on tougher sanctions against Russia, Bloomberg reported, citing sources familiar with the talks.

Trump has continued urging Russian President Vladimir Putin to agree to a ceasefire in Ukraine but has resisted additional sanctions, despite previously threatening to introduce more. At the G7 dinner, he reportedly repeated concerns that sanctions were too costly for the United States.

A chair’s statement expected from Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will affirm G7 support for U.S.-led peace efforts, according to Bloomberg. The statement is also set to highlight that Ukraine has demonstrated readiness for a ceasefire, while Russia has not, and emphasize the need for continued pressure on Moscow through sanctions. Carney’s office did not comment on the expected statement.

ISW Update June 17 2025

quote:

Key Takeaways:

Russian forces conducted the third largest combined drone and missile strike against Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion on the night of June 16 to 17.

The June 16-17 strike series heavily targeted Kyiv City and hit residential areas in the capital, as Russian officials and milbloggers called on Russia to intensify its strikes against Ukraine.

Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu announced that North Korea would send 6,000 sappers and military engineers to help with reconstruction efforts in Kursk Oblast.

The European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom (UK) announced sanctions packages against Russia on June 16 and 17.

Russian forces recently advanced near Siversk, Toretsk, and Pokrovsk.

Could it be that the Israelis and the Russians have the same kompromat on TACO?

It’s going to be embarrassing when Israel is able to instigate regime change in Iran before Russia can in Ukraine.

Trump told Zelenskyy to stop striking Russian energy facilities, refused to impose a price cap on Russian oil, and criticized Western leaders for expelling Russia from the G7.

Putin is probably fine with Russia being out of the G7, considering that Trump is effectively representing them at the meetings.

Just looking at things from a military perspective.

Russia had years to prepare for an attack on their neighbor. They were attacking a nation they use to “own” giving them an even greater advantage. Instead of shock and awe, Ukrsine was able to stymie Russia and reverse two of their major fronts.

Now look at Israel. They too had years to prepare, but they had to attack Iran who was 100s of miles away. Iran was truly a foreign land; yet Israel was able to get at Iran via their
Mossad agents.

The failure of the Russian military is the story that doesn’t get covered.

Pro-Kremlin Media Hail Los Angeles Unrest As ‘Civil War’

quote:

Kremlin-friendly pundits and programs have been savoring every shot of protesters in Los Angeles this week, some proclaiming that the United States must be in midst of a new “civil war.”

Prominent state-run Rossia-1 TV host Vladimir Solovyov put it bluntly: “I’m enjoying what I see.”

He was not alone.

In Putin's Russia, the prison camps would be overflowing.

Our parties started intentionally dividing us because it won them elections and kept the dollars flowing. We once were a nation of people who might disagree with each other, but could have a conversation. Now you can't even converse with the other side.
