I disagree, and Eurocrat’s post shows it.

We seem to apply American viewpoints and sentimentalism to other countries, where it is wholly not applicable.

And people forget about the War in Iraq. While most of my family was for it, I was against it, didn’t buy the WMD lies, and was wondering what the frick this had to do with 9/11 and Osama Bin Laden. People fall for propaganda and need to be constantly vigilant on the lookout for it.

The Daily Wire has sent Kassy Dillon into Ukraine to cover the war.

It would be interesting to see those viewpoints with adequate access to information and the luxury of being able to process it.

I've read stories where Russians with family in Ukraine who have refused to believe war is even being waged, even when presented by their own family with first hand accounts, photos, and video. They say it is Ukrainian propaganda and that the Ukrainians are bombing their own cities.

Life under a dictator who has absolute control of information has so many parallels to life in a cult that it is just unreal.

Rally round the flag only works so long, especially if the leadership has nothing to offer but hardship and pain, with no tangible benefit to show for it. Public opinion matters, even in an authoritarian state. Even Hitler and Stalin cared about what the public thought, to some degree.

Stalin had the benefit of the war happening on his turf to help galvanize the people. This will probably turn out to the equivalent of Afghanistan for Putin. The masses will get tired of poverty and their own coming back in caskets.

People, children are under the wreckage. Atrocity! How much longer will the world be an accomplice ignoring terror? Close the sky right now! Stop the killings! You have power but you seem to be losing humanity.

I understand why he's saying it, but Zelenskyy needs to chill out with the incessant whining about a no-fly zone. It ain't happening. No one wants to risk WW3 over a no-fly zone in Ukraine.

Thanks for the info.

The general vibe I've gotten on social media throughout this is that the Russian youth have begun to realize what their lives could be without the rampant corruption of their government.

Unfortunately, they'll likely be the ones dying wholesale if this spirals further out of control.

War is a game of “attrition”.

The question isn’t whether the Russian citizens will turn on him, but whether the western nations’ citizens cry “uncle” first.

At this point, there are way so many political points to be gained across the planet to let Putin slide out of this.

Not to say that a decent chunk of those politicians wouldn't still like to see Putin dead regardless.

I'd like to see how many Russians support the war now they can't get a big Mac meal to soak up that vodka hangover.

They will face the same issue they have faced with every other objective thus far. Taking it and controlling it whilst also advancing will be the issue. I haven't seen enough yet to believe they have 100% control of it at this point. I don't think the Battle of Hostomel is over just yet.

I think they're gonna try a little harder this time according to the translated tweet.
