Italy to provide Ukraine with $13 million to restore energy infrastructure

by Dmytro Basmat March 1, 2025 11:31 PM

Rome signed an agreement with Kyiv on Feb. 28 to provide Ukraine with 13 million euros ($13.5 million) directed towards the country's Energy Support Fund, Ukraine's Energy Ministry announced.

The funding will be used to support "the restoration of Ukraine’s energy sector," a news release from the Energy Ministry read.

Russia continues to target Ukrainian energy infrastructure, testing Ukraine's resolve as the country is enduring another winter.

"This assistance will allow us to procure essential equipment and strengthen the resilience of Ukraine’s energy system at a time when the enemy is relentlessly attacking energy facilities," Ukraine’s Deputy Energy Minister Roman Andarak said in a statement.

LOL. Good luck finding them. The US needs to take a back seat on this and allow Europe the space they believe they need along with Ukraine. I’m sorry that Biden allowed this to happen to all of the innocents. There are tens of thousands of Ukraine and Russians men who have lost their lives affecting so many families. War is good for “absolutely nothing”.

Nice list of US companies you got there. You think Trump is going to allow US arms sales to Ukraine while demanding they accept a peace deal at the same time? Again, this isn't a video game.

It's also cute that you think arms dealers have $3B in inventory back in the warehouse just waiting for an order. It'll take 5-10 years for Europe to even begin to reindustrialize. They've already had 3 years and haven't done anything after making all the same promises.

Arms dealers will find that 2 billion dollars.
If they have the gold someone will have the goods.

They could easily spend that amount domestically on drones...

from the Kyiv Post...

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense had, thanks in part to allied financial and technical assistance, contracted the domestic manufacture of 1.6 million UAVs of various types for about $2.47 billion by October 2024, the Ukrainian defense publication Miltarniy reported. Aircraft produced include long-range kamikaze drones, conventional configuration reconnaissance drones, and single-wing reconnaissance drones, the report said.

Ukraine also has a domestic partnership with Rheinmetall and are also producing their own mortar shells, etc. The list goes on and on. Their domestic arms production is booming.
