Trump was spot on when he told Zelensky that he has no cards to play without the US.

Europoe isn't going to save Ukraine, the US is the only country in the world that can give Ukraine leverage.

The European leaders can all side with Zelensky, but as you said, that won't save Ukraine. Ukraine is fricked without the US.

100%. Those globalist in the EU and GB will drop Ukraine like a hot potato without the US backing them up.

If Trump strikes a deal with Putin and Zelensky says no, Trump will then tell him and Europe you are on your own. That is when Europe will run for the exit.

It's going to be amazing if Trump jerks that pacifier out of their mouth.

This may result in Trump pulling out of Europe. That is what he wants to do anyway.

European countries will still give him aid if it’s popular with their people.

At this point the one thing that can make a difference is an attack on Moscow. I’m sure that has been in Ukraine’s back pocket for 3 years. When all else fails jump into the belly of the beast

Exactly. Everyone knows NATO isn’t going to join the war against Russia as an open belligerent. And everyone knows Ukraine is already scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to manpower. And everyone knows this war has long been one of attrition. And everyone knows what happens to a country in a war of attrition when they can no longer replace losses at the front. We could send Ukraine every tank and artillery piece in the entire Western world and it would not change the fact Ukraine is running out of bodies fast. Nothing can change that. And the only thing that can stop it is if the fighting stops.

Zelenskyy is a damned fool for not taking this chance to end the war while he still has a country to rule. This deal was his last best chance. And he fricked it up about as thoroughly as humanly possible. And it’s the people of Ukraine who will suffer because of his stupidity.

Good luck with that.

Unless that aid the form of fully trained and equipped mechanized infantry and armored divisions, and I mean a lot of them, then all the aid in the world will do Ukraine no good.

What sort of attack? Drones? Cruise Missiles? If they do, Russia will hit them back 10x as much as whatever Ukraine can throw at them. Here’s the thing, Putin knows all he has to do to achieve total victory over Ukraine is to keep bleeding them slowly on a daily basis. Ukraine lacks bodies to keep feeding the meat grinder long term. Putin is fully aware with each day Ukraine inches closer and closer to the point of military exhaustion. All Putin has to do is keep feeding the meat grinder longer than Ukraine can. It’s a simple mathematical calculation as to when the collapse will come. And when it does, Ukraine will be relegated to the dustbin of history all because it was lead by a damned fool.

Europe, especially western Europe, is overrun with spineless cowards throughout their political structures.

Their politics is somehow even more performative than ours.

It was a planned op to rugpull Rubio and the admin on the mineral deal asking for “security guarantees”. This is all theater from that moment.

What a time to be alive.

I think the war was over in 2022 when the US wouldn’t let the Ukraine advance into Russia. They could only stay back and wait for them to attack. Now that we say it’s okay for them to advance into Russia it’s too late.

A lot of Europe is going to rally around Zelenskyy

Europe demands our help and then tries to reprimand us if we aren't generous enough, by their definition, with it.

This is what the far left politics of that region lead to. Leftism in general revolves around taking with no regard as to who you're taking from.

For too long they have been a parasitic roommate instead of the friendly neighbor they should be.

lol they will tweet empty words and continue to wait for the USA to carry the west.

Also disrespecting trump is the dumbest thing you can do when your country is 100% depending on the USA to avoid being overrun by Russia

It started out on track, with a few light platitudes:

- Trump: “I give tremendous credit to your generals and your soldiers and yourself in the sense that it's been very hard fighting, very tough fighting, great fighters. You have to be very proud of them from that standpoint. But now we want to get it over with.”

- Trump: “We give them [Ukrainian soldiers] great credit. This [war] was supposed to be over very quickly [by surrender], and here we are three years later [standing and fighting].”

- Trump: “We are committed to NATO but Europe must step up. They have to equalize.”

Then Trump has to face the elephant in the room – the so far non-existent security agreements. You know, like… the only reason Zelensky made the trip. Trump is annoyed by this topic as he wishes it would just go away without interfering with his mineral rights deal. He says, “Let’s stop the killing first, worry about guarantees second. Everyone talks about security guarantees but let me make the deal first.” There it is: sign the contract first and my people will talk to you about your concerns later. How do you say, “Fell off the cabbage wagon” in Ukrainian?

But then the real meeting starts. Vance (what…? Vance?) then interrupts and pushes for diplomacy with Putin. Zelensky, wondering why Vance is talking, asks a legitimate question: “What kind of diplomacy are you talking about with Putin?”

Trump, changing tact, then says that Zelensky has no cards, needs to be more respectful, and that the real problem is his ‘attitude’. Wow, so much maturity in one statement. Both Trump and Vance then start shouting down Zelensky. The tag team is on.

- “You have no people, there are no men in Ukraine.” – Vice President Vance. Zelensky - “Come and see.”

- “You went to campaign for the opposition.” Vance. Zelensky, still wondering why this person is speaking to the adults, asks, “You think it's okay for you to speak loudly?”

- Vance then throws out the old lie claiming, “Ukraine is forcing conscripts onto the frontline.” (“What about the Ukrainians eating the cats and the dogs in Springfield?”)

- Vance, getting desperate and running out of material, then blurts out, “We know you’re wrong, be thankful.” Zelensky replies accurately, “We have thanked the American people many times.”

A very public and indefensible double team ambush.

Where do we start? Eighty years of US hegemony, American deterrence and global leadership gone in a schoolyard fit of pique. ‘Abandoning an ally that is winning, fighting one of our chief enemies, supported by virtually the whole world.’ That was the biggest diplomatic disaster since Chamberlain at Munich.

Thank Goodness it was public, so the whole world could see what an ambush it was. Trump was clearly upset at Zelensky due to the comments Zelensky made about him in regards to the mineral rights negotiations last week. The Donald is notoriously thin-skinned and cannot differentiate between personal and business. We know that. It’s called immaturity by most, arrested development by some. But to start insulting Zelensky at his arrival and having a JD Vance loaded and standing by to goad him into anger with tired disproven accusations – “forcing conscripts onto the frontline”; “there are no men in Ukraine”; “we know you’re wrong”; “you should be thankful”- is just bush league. This is what we can expect from the US President now? Really?

Oh, and good bye minerals deal. Macron was absolutely right. Trump is clearly unhinged and his anger just destroyed the Real Estate Deal of the Century. But that’s been the Trump playbook since he had to declare bankruptcy with three casinos in the 1980’s. (The only person in the world that could maneuver three casinos into bankruptcy… )

There was never going to be any security component to the Trump deal. Zelensky found that out within 15 minutes of arriving. Kyiv will be signing a real deal with the EU consortium asap. Yeah, Donnie, always get more than the other guy in any negotiation. And what did you get today? That sound you just heard was $500 billion swooshing over your head. Good job, shine boy.

Last Thanksgiving, I made the following post:

quote:

I repeat, Trump is aiming to give Putin everything he wants: a stop to the fighting, lifting of sanctions and a forced delay of Ukraine becoming a NATO member. If he goes through with this, he is a coward and is acting in Putin's best interest against everything the US and our allies stand for. This will be the end of the American Century.

I'm not going to put the blame on Trump's proposals on historical mistakes or missed opportunities of previous administrations. That's hindsight. I am focusing solely on the present and what Trump wants to do. He will sell out the Ukrainian people and our European allies because he doesn't have the strength or courage to fight and see this thing through. We can deny and rationalize all we want, but those are the cold hard facts.

I got a lot of criticism then for being dramatic and not giving Trump a chance to prove what a great leader he would be. A Presidential leader of the free world. Yeah, I think we’ve seen enough. He’s a catastrophic disaster. Some see it now, the rest will see it later. He lives to destroy.

Imagine loving some bizarre postwar consensus notion of a nation more than your actual country
