People are melting, but what President Trump and VP Vance laid bare was two irrefutable facts:
1. Ukraine cannot win the war. Period, full stop.
2. Ukraine needs to accept whatever terms it can get today because with every passing day, the terms it can get worsen.
No amount of aid from the West will change these facts. There is no point to keep this war going if you actually care about Ukraine because nothing is to be gained from the Ukrainian standpoint. The only county who benefits from the war continuing is Russia because the longer it goes, the more ground they gain and the closer they drive Ukraine to compete military collapse.
Zelenskyy is either a damned fool for keeping the war going, or he’s afraid to lose his power if the war ends. And from an American standpoint, why should we continue to pump billions of dollars into propping up the side that has no hope of winning?
The West has given enough aid to keep Ukraine from losing with the hope that Russia will back out due to economic sanctions and high battlefield casualties. Putin is showing he's committed to paying the blood and treasure for as long as it takes.
I'm no fan of Putin or the Russian decision to invade, but the only way to ensure a Ukraine victory at this point is full commitment of the forces of Western nations which is an absolute no-go. Russia should have never done this, but it's not worth setting the world on fire.

No, but I expect you might look back one page to see that it had already been posted twice. Too much to assume on my part.

Kremlin officials praise Trump's treatment of Zelensky
by Abbey Fenbert February 28, 2025 10:03 PM
Russian officials commented on the heated exchange between President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on Feb. 28, calling the clash "historic" and "a livid reprimand from the Oval Office."
Kremlin adviser Kirill Dmitriev called the argument "historic" in a post on X.
Dmitriev serves as special envoy to Russian President Vladimir Putin and took part in the recent direct talks between the U.S. and Russia in Saudi Arabia.
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev praised Trump for telling "the truth," calling the argument "a livid reprimand" delivered to an "ungrateful" Zelensky.
Medvedev, currently a deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council, has made numerous inflammatory statements on social media platforms and has openly challenged Ukraine's right to exist as an independent nation.

Zelensky spat the carrot out, asked for the stick, and just got it.
That's what Trump said early on, but evidently he has changed his mind and trusts Putin to keep his word.

Exactly. It’s blatantly clear Ukraine can’t win. They don’t have the manpower to win. In fact, at the rate they’re losing men, there will come a time soon when they’ll lack the ability to keep their front from collapsing.
The only thing that will change that fact is if Western Troops, primarily American, enter the war. And I’m sorry, that’s not going to happen. Nor should it happen. It would literally be World War III.
I’ve been saying the same thing about this war repeatedly over and over for the past year or more, Ukraine must sue for peace. I don’t say that as a “fan” of either side. I have no love for Russia. In fact, I view them as an adversary to the US and the West.I have no hate for Ukraine, in fact I’m at best ambivalent about them. I’m as close to absolutely neutral on this war as humanly possible.

Dumb arse Zel had his friends come over to remove all the furniture in his house, so he could paint the floor. He painted himself into a corner. When the paint dried, and he walked out, all his friends had stolen his furniture.

In a week there is a chance this going to look totally different.
In a week Zelenskyy may be more popular than ever. In Europe they may see him as the one world leader that has the stones to stand up to Trump in the WH and the only one to call a VP a bitch to his face(in Ukrainian).

This is actually sad for the people of Ukraine. They are screwed. The globalists/international rules based border types have led them down a path to disaster. They listened to a bunch of deviant people who lied to, made false promises and used them just to satisfy their hatred of Russia and their lust for blood.

And that will make exactly zero difference when it comes to the war. So, while Z is the darling of Europe, his country is hurtling headlong toward military collapse and total defeat. Maybe some of his European pals will offer him asylum once the Russians reach Kiev.
