quote:Macron just got back from meeting with Trump. It went well, with a very interesting joint press conference afterwards. But successful or not, Macron certainly made note of Trump's current mental condition. His erratic behavior and childish moves to shock everyone over the last couple of weeks have raised questions that only a face to face meeting can confirm. So it could well be that Macron went back to France and told his negotiators to continue pressing for a deal with the Ukrainians as the US deal may not last out the week.
France is in talks with Kyiv over access to Ukraine’s mineral resources but has stressed that, UNLIKE the US, it is not seeking them in exchange for its aid in Ukraine’s fight against Russia.

Zelensky's meeting with Trump in Washington tomorrow is critical.
Three issues to watch:
a.) How does Trump treat Zelensky. Is formal (adult) protocol followed, or do we get the spoiled child tomorrow making Zelensky wait outside for an hour, have the meeting interrupted multiple times or cut short.
b.) What does Trump tell Zelensky? We know Zelensky has agreed to the mineral rights deal, but he will want iron clad guarantees of continued weapons deliveries from the US. Will Trump respond positively and make these guarantees? Or will he start talking in circles and avoiding the topic? - The most important and critical topic in the world right now.
c.) What will be said in the resulting press conference(s)? Will Trump contradict Zelensky or - after Zelensky flies home - deny anything that Zelensky states to the press after the meeting? Will Team Trump all step up to promote a common narrative that it's all Zelensky's fault and "he's not a legitimate leader anyway"?
With Trump's recent erratic behavior and substantial evidence that he's Putin's puppet, the meeting tomorrow will either put the lie to these allegations or prove them to be true. We arrive at the Rubicon tomorrow.

More than 100 tons of gold have disappeared from Putin’s “piggy bank” — the Russian National Welfare Fund — The Moscow Times.
"...the ministries stated that the gold could have been converted into rubles." Not sold, but "converted into rubles".
We discussed before that we should watch Putin's gold reserves, that sales here would mean they have arrived at the bottom of the barrel. Welcome to the bottom.
The Moscow Times

Last year, gold reserves in the NWF decreased by 171.2 tons, although only 58.9 tons were officially announced for sale.
The Russian Ministry of Finance did not explain where the other 100 tons of precious metal went. At the beginning of 2025, the Fund had 187.7 tons of gold left (at the beginning of last year — 358.9 tons). Over the year, the “gold reserve” decreased by 171.2 tons (48%).
Journalists learned that gold disappeared from the NWF almost every month during 2024. For example, in March, the fund lost 23.2 tons, in May — 4.7 tons, in October — 8.5 tons. At the same time, the Ministry of Finance officially reported only one transaction — the sale of 58.9 tons of gold in December to cover the budget deficit.
In response to journalists’ requests, the ministries stated that the gold could have been converted into rubles and used to support Russian companies and strategic sectors of the economy.

This makes perfect economic sense for commercial reasons for the US companies building LNG liquefaction/export terminals on the Gulf Coast. Also, for US oil drilling and production. Exports to Europe instead of Asia of oil is dominant now.

Having announced a 25% tariff on all EU imports today, who knows what it means? Other than a retaliatory trade war. I know the US oil and gas industry and especially the US armament manufacturors are pulling their hair out right now. But they may take solace in realizing that after Trump's insanity over the last two weeks, no one in Europe will be buying anything from us anyway.

Europe has much higher tariffs on US products than 25%, some are much higher depending on nation. All of those biodiesel plants using soy oil built 15-20 years ago went bankrupt because their target market was Europe which put a $1 per gallon tariff on imports from the US A client designed, fabricated and built 28 of them. A lot of product manufacturing equipment made in the USA cannot be sold in Europe at all because the only designs approved are patented by German companies for "Climate Change" and the tits on a boar hog part does zero to help or hurt.
In trade, Europe has been sticking the green weenie to the US for decades.
As late as 20 years ago, driving a Big American Car (Crown Victoria) was a sign of being wealthy in France more than driving the largest Mercedes per internationally known artist Julian Opie. Though he is a Londoner, he has an estate in the Loire Valley. He also loved to drive his Big American Tractor, and could well afford the duties paid for the car and the tractor.

Macron’s Visit to Trump on Ukraine Deemed a “Waste of Time” – Politico
French President Emmanuel Macron’s trip to meet Donald Trump and discuss Ukraine turned out to be a “waste of time,” Politico reports, citing diplomatic sources. Macron failed to secure security guarantees from the US for European troops in Ukraine or ensure Europe’s involvement in negotiations.
According to EU officials, Macron “did not receive concrete assurances” from Trump.
“There remains strategic ambiguity on this issue,” said one European diplomat.
Europe is hoping for US support in a potential peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, including intelligence, air defense, and military transport, but so far, these expectations have not been met.
The idea of appointing an EU special representative for negotiations was also discussed, but Trump “showed no interest” in such a format.
Today, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is visiting Trump on a similar mission."

Nothing was cherry picked, the quote is directly in the headline and also in the article itself. I suggest you stop lying, you are making a fool of yourself. Let's see how long it takes doubleb to respond to his false accusations. I bet he doesn't. That's how NAFO trolls operate. Tell lies then when proven wrong ignore the evidence

Trump should kick Starmer and Lammy to the curb. Impose massive tariffs/sanctions on them to bring down that awful government.
