And Ukraine can?
Ukraine is the home team. They arent projecting a large force into a foreign land. And they are defending their homeland. The two sides have much different perspectives.

There could be some bad fallout if a Chinese citizen/reporter is killed out there.

Obviously the location, etc... need to be verified.
But that's straight up murder.

Not sure if posted or not. This shite is nuts.

"Drunk Russian soldiers" shot and killed a 10-year-old Ukrainian girl while shooting aimlessly at a village outside of Kyiv, according to the girl’s family.
Anastasia Stoluk, also called Nastya, died on Feb. 28 in a village located about 40 miles from Ukraine’s capital, the girl’s cousin Anya Stoluk told The Times.
A Ukrainian teenage boy had allegedly fired a gun into the air that day, and Russian soldiers reportedly responded by shooting at houses in the village of Shybene.
"The soldiers heard [the teenager firing the gun] but since they were so drunk they didn't know where it was from, so they just started shooting everywhere they could see," Vera Dmitrienko, Stoluk’s mother, told The Times.
"[The Russian soldiers] looted all the stores, of course they got a lot of alcohol ... and got drunk and started shooting."
Dmitrienko said the soldiers fired into the girl’s house as she was there with her uncle and died "immediately."
The soldiers allegedly prevented Nastya’s mother from visiting the local cemetery, and the young girl was buried in the backyard.

Just let me start out by saying that I'm not pro-Russia in any way, shape, or form. I don't support their invasion and I hope the Ukrainians handily beat them.
All that being said, I have no doubt that this kind of thing happened God knows how many times by US/allied forces during the last 20 years of the GWOT. Unfortunately, this is the stuff that happens during a war. There's a chance that they just wanted to kill those people, but there's also a chance that it was simply due to those people unknowingly getting too close to the vehicle. Again, I'm in no way condoning that.

What a fricking dick Stephen Colbert is:
"Today, the average gas price in America hit an all-time record high of over $4/gallon. OK, that stings, but a clean conscience is worth a buck or two. It’s important. I’m willing to pay $4/gallon. Hell, I’ll pay $15 a gallon b/c I drive a Tesla"
How much is he worth?

I am not condoning what Russia is doing at all, obviously, and I am definitely not into discussing politics on tRant - one board I never visit. But what is the explanation for the relative peace between Russia and the region and with us really, with Trump in office versus Obama and now Biden? Didn't the whole Crimea thing happen with Obama in office?
I am admittedly ill-informed about all of this.

Just a good ol democrat who looks out for the common man

Seems like you're still having trouble understanding things that are obviously jokes.

There's a lot to unpack there but without getting too much into the Trump doctrine (whatever it may have been) and this is all subjective, I think Russia viewed him much as the USSR viewed Reagan - with apprehension and caution over how he might respond to any aggression. Trump showed signs of being uh erratic and Putin was not going to test someone like that. Not meant to be a segue into the merits or criticisms of Trump.

It depends on who you ask.
The left will say that it's because Trump was buddies with Putin and it all stopped because they were cozied up (don't really understand that argument)
The right will say it's because Trump was unpredictable and allegedly threatened to bomb Moscow if they went into Ukraine.
I'm not sure exactly the reasoning, but I do know Trump was the first president to send lethal aid into Ukraine.

Trump wanted to further his business interests in Russia (hotels, real estate) and was threatening to pull us out of NATO. Putin wanted to see if Trump would actually do it. He also wanted t withhold aid to Ukraine to force Zelensky to investigate Biden. That was a plus for Putin as well. As much as Trump likes to say he was harder on Russia than anyone he also complained that the various sanctions were too tough.

Oh frick off RC. “A clean conscience is worth a buck or two.” This guy is not a comedian. He’s a propaganda elitist a-hole who is merely telling you to suck it up. This guy probably hasn’t entered a supermarket in well over a decade.

War in a foreign land, and OML outraged at some domestic politics BS in the thread.

Yeah he’s not joking. “A clean conscience is worth a buck or two.” He’s saying I’m better than you and to suck it up. He is a mere state propagandist. Rogan has an audience larger than all the late night hosts combined, so he sure as shite isn’t getting paid $15 million a year for the audience and the ratings. He’s merely there to keep the dummies content and in line. It’s Woke church.
