Russia won’t be able to sustain that. These sanctions are destroying their economy and more sanctions are on the way. They are cut off from most of the developed world and their biggest ally can’t afford to keep them afloat indefinitely.

So if Russia stops the war today, the west is just going to lift the sanctions and act like this never happened?!

When the US is supplying tanks, guns and combat aircraft to Ukraine, let us know. THAT is REAL "military assistance".

We have been supplying them with javelin and stinger missiles. I have also seen that (and yeah always doubt what you read) that we gave Ukraine soviet helicopters previously seized in Afghanistan. Don't know how true that part is.

Either way, none of it is going to have the stars and stripes visible.

Probably wouldn’t lift every sanction tomorrow but I’m sure a permanent ceasefire and unconditional retreat would loosen things up pretty quickly.

That's fricking great. Won't affect me since I'm wealthy and can work from home anyway.

Have you thought about the possibility that Russia can achieve that goal AFTER peace comes and can do so via a technique called "Subversion"? Russia perhaps embeds assets within Ukraine - assets that will remain there and work to subvert Ukraine until any Ukrainian Govt not aligned with Russia fails?

A peace that leads to zelensky still in power would strengthen his hold… and strengthen ties to western economy. It’s the worst case secenario for Putin.

I guess what you’re outlining could happen… but weve seen the east, where Russian support was supposed to be strong fight tooth and nail… it seems unlikely some Jason Bourne movie type shite would work as you described it.

A sustained war of attrition has shown to only sow hate in local people… insurgency/guerrilla war is almost guaranteed… Russia cannot sustain that for any real length of time.

I am not sure if this has been posted. Its on TMZ. I don't know if its propaganda or not. But a Russian tank takes out two civilians (two elderly people evacuating) who were in their car.

I don't know if it will get that bad but sacrifices are going to have to be made in order to support Ukraine. These sanctions are going to negatively affect our economy as well as Russia's. Just try to remember as bad as it is here it's nothing like it is in Kyiv or Kharkiv or Moscow for that matter.

That was obviously hyperbole, however, food prices are going to skyrocket from a lack of Russian fertilizer products.

I realize that economic hardship is relative, but this is why I wanted to avoid a war.
