I wonder how many billions of that was just total waste and fraud? Exorbitant fees, political kickbacks, laundering, lack of resource management, theft, lack of a proper auditing system, etc.? I have never heard of a more incompetent, corrupt administration. Then And on top of that you are dealing with one of the most corrupt countries in the world. I hope that it is all exposed. That and what is now being exposed with USAID.

Ukraine's Security Service and Special Operations Forces strike power facilities in two Russian oblasts – video
VALENTYNA ROMANENKO — Monday, 3 February 2025, 12:59
The drones of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) and the Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit the Volgograd oil refinery and Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant on the night of 2-3 February.
Source: Ukrainska Pravda source in intelligence services; General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Quote: "Last night, two Russian businesses were subjected to ‘drone sanctions’ at once. These are the Volgograd oil refinery (LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka refinery) and the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant.
Both affected facilities are major producers of fuel for the Russian army. The Volgograd oil refinery processes almost 6% of all oil in Russia, and the Astrakhan gas processing plant is one of Russia's key energy facilities, processing 12 billion tonnes of gas condensate annually."
Details: The source reports that at the Volgograd plant, SSU and SOF drones set fire to the flare system, primary processing units No 2 and No 3, as well as process units No 20 and No 21.
The Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant's gas condensate processing complex was damaged. The fire is still not contained, leading to the plant being shut down and workers evacuated.

Armen Sarkisian, suspected organiser of anti-Maidan provocateurs, killed in explosion in Moscow – video
STANISLAV POHORILOV — Monday, 3 February 2025, 12:34
An explosion at the Alye Parusa ("Scarlet Sails") housing complex in Moscow has left one person dead and several others injured. Law enforcement officials have confirmed that Armen Sarkisian, also known as "Armen Horlivskyi" [Armen from Horlivka, Donetsk Oblast – ed.], was seriously wounded in the explosion. Sarkisian is known as the organiser of the Maidan "titushky" and the founder of the "Armenian Battalion" ["titushky" are hired thugs used to intimidate Maidan protesters in 2014 – ed]. Reports indicate that he died in the intensive care unit without regaining consciousness.
For reference: A native of now-occupied Horlivka, Donetsk Oblast, 44-year-old Armen Sarkisian has been wanted since 2014 on suspicion of organising the Maidan titushky [provocateurs who would incite violence at pro-European, anti-Yanukovych political rallies in order to get protestors arrested. Yanukovych was the former Russian-backed president of Ukraine who committed multiple crimes against the Ukrainian people and corrupted the country – ed.]. The investigators reported that on 17 February 2014, acting in the interests of former Interior Minister Vitalii Zakharchenko and his business partners, Sarkisian ordered Yurii Krysin to find 200-300 people to "protect public order" in the government quarter, which led to the murder of journalist Viacheslav Veremii.

Lets take a look at how Ukraine conscription/recruitment is going.
LINK
quote:
Ukrainian prosecutors charged two men on Sunday over the killing of an army draft officer in the central Poltava region, leading a top general to call for swift punishment as he warned of growing disrespect towards members of the military. One of the suspects, who was being driven to a military training centre on Friday with other conscripts, called an acquaintance who then arrived at the scene and shot dead one of the accompanying officers, the Prosecutor General’s office alleged. Two suspects were arrested a few hours later, the office said in a statement, adding that police had seized a hunting rifle, ammunition and two cases of hand grenades from the alleged shooter.
Separately, an explosion near a recruitment centre for the Ukrainian military on Sunday wounded one person, police said. Taking place outside an army office in the central town of Pavlograd, Sunday’s blast was the latest in a series of similar incidents, just a day after another blast Rivne, a town in north-west Ukraine, killed one person. Without giving a possible cause, the Dnipropetrovsk regional police said an investigation was ongoing into Sunday’s blast which happened towards at 6.40pm. “According to preliminary information, a man was wounded by the explosion of a unidentified object,” the force said in a statement.

Deflect. Are you one of those fed workers that has to return to work today?
Your world is crumbling and you have the sads. I understand.
Will you be able to handle the next four years?
I plan on keeping you all updated regarding the corruption and grift/theft that is being exposed now.

Gees Louise, why didn't we hear about all this blatant stealing earlier? It's almost like it just magically appeared last week out of nowhere...
I don't personally have strong opinions on USAID yet based on anything I've seen (which admittedly hasn't been a whole lot to this point), but this kind of reads like being skeptical about someone suddenly becoming a murder suspect because DNA evidence was just discovered

Here in La. funelling money to connected NGOs is the breakfast of champions. I know the thousands they launder here adds up, I can only imagine what it adds up to on a federal scale.

Kremlin: Zelensky Has No Seat at the Negotiation Table
According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has no authority to participate in negotiations to end the conflict. Moscow argues that his presidential term expired in May 2024 and, with no elections held due to martial law, he lacks the legitimacy to sign any agreements.
This stance effectively blocks direct talks between Kyiv and Moscow, reinforcing Russia’s claim that Zelensky himself barred negotiations by ruling out discussions with Putin. Meanwhile, Ukraine dismisses this as a Kremlin tactic to undermine potential peace efforts."

Zelenskyy: Putin fears talks with Ukraine as he cannot admit defeat
KATERYNA TYSHCHENKO — Sunday, 2 February 2025, 17:19
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is afraid of direct negotiations with Ukraine.
Source: Zelenskyy in an interview with Associated Press
Quote: "He [Putin – ed.] is definitely afraid of direct talks with us. I believe, in his mind, it represents his defeat, his weakness. He fears this, which is why he will do everything to push his old narratives that this is a war between the West and Russia.
He cannot admit that he is actually losing to Ukraine. He has not defeated Ukraine, which means he is losing. And he cannot acknowledge this because here is Russia on the map, and here is Ukraine. That’s why he says, 'I want to talk to Trump, I’m ready to talk to America' – he’s always done this."
Details: Zelenskyy is convinced that Putin will try to derail negotiations.
Quote: "He will start by saying, 'this is a war between Russia and the West, so I’m talking to the West.' When President Trump tells him that Ukraine must be at the negotiation table, he will again bring up issues of illegitimacy. He will invent reasons to avoid the possibility of ending the war in Ukraine through talks with Ukraine. It’s not about personalities; it’s about his stance within his own state – to demonstrate that Ukraine does not have agency."
Details: In Zelenskyy’s view, Putin believes he is "at war with America and thinks he is winning against America".

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are losing positions near Krasnoarmeysk amid a catastrophic shortage of manpower and supply problems, Associated Press reports.
According to Ukrainian army officers, they lack the reserves needed to continue holding their positions. In addition, newly arrived infantry units are not coping with the tasks assigned to them."

Biden administration slowed Ukraine arms shipments until his term was nearly done
In case some of you are still confused about why Zelensky was saying that much of the promised US aid still hasn't arrived.

They would rather screw Ukraine over in an attempt to also screw Trump over than give them the tools to set themselves up in a position of (relative) strength before negotiations start.
Our politics on both sides have become FAR too focused on retribution against the other side than taking calculated, impactful actions

inexcusable...
"By November, just about half of the total dollar amount the U.S. had promised in 2024 from American stockpiles had been delivered, and only about 30% of promised armored vehicles had arrived by early December, according to two congressional aides, a U.S. official, and a lawmaker briefed on the data."

If its done in a way that improves the country going forward, then yes. I don't want a potentially transformative president spending huge amounts of time on retribution when he could be actually accomplishing something.

Yes and don't to it in a way that alienates enough the electorate that got you in. A one-off presidency is not a long-term answer.
