During the battle, SOF operators neutralized two North Korean soldiers. Additionally, drone strikes destroyed seven occupiers, with another ten wounded. The resignation comes in the wake of widespread protests following the tragedy at the Novi Sad train station, which have since escalated into the largest anti-government demonstrations in recent years.

Yanukovych’s Vintage Cars Burn in Russian Drone Strike
Current Kremlin houseguest Viktor Yanukovych, Ukraine’s fourth president, served from 2010 until his ousting in 2014 during the Euromaidan protests that precipitated Putin’s Russo-Ukrainian War.
by Kyiv Post | January 28, 2025, 12:14 pm
Early in the morning on Tuesday, Jan. 28, Russian forces carried out a series of drone strikes across multiple regions in Ukraine, targeting and damaging civilian infrastructure.
The Kyiv Post
In the Kyiv region, debris from a downed Russian Shahed-type drone struck a museum housing former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych’s collection of vintage cars, sparking a fire that engulfed 600 square meters (6,458 square feet).
Yanukovych, Ukraine’s fourth president, served from 2010 until his ousting in 2014 during the Euromaidan protests. Known for his pro-Russian stance, Yanukovych fled to Russia after being removed from office and was later convicted in absentia for treason.
His lavish estate in Mezhyhirya, including the retro car museum, became “a symbol of corruption” during his presidency. After his ousting, the residence was unofficially named the “corruption museum.”
The attack also damaged two private homes, three non-residential buildings, and three cars in the Kyiv region. No injuries were reported.
In Kharkiv, a Russian drone struck a woodworking workshop in the Novobavarsky district, damaging a gas pipeline and igniting a fire that spread across 1,500 square meters (16,146 square feet).
Bohdan Hladkikh, head of the city’s emergency department, reported that neighboring businesses were affected, two cars were destroyed, and two residents suffered acute stress reactions.
According to Ukraine’s Air Force, Russia launched 100 Shahed drones in the overnight attack, with 65 enemy drones confirmed downed across multiple regions. Additionally, 28 decoy drones were lost without causing damage, with two heading toward Russia and Belarus.

It's quite probable that the entire world would be better today (and these past 80 years) if the good old US of A had stayed out of WWII and allowed Europe to settle things.
I like playing hypotheticals.
I could MAYBE get on with this theory if you're saying we still fought the Japanese. "Germany would have eventually lost anyway due to their ideology creating inefficiencies in their military operations, because people were promoted based on adherence to the ideology vs actual qualifications" is probably a correct thesis.
Any theory that doesn't involve us dealing with the Japanese threat is just completely off base though. Japan right now would have the power level present day China does, but instead of being a bad but usually rational actor like China they would be an irrational bad actor (so like Nazi Germany).
So maybe we don't go to Europe, but instead we focus our full efforts on Japan. Maybe we beat them without needing to use the bomb? What does the world look like? There are two general schools there.. 1) If we never bombed/had to bomb Japan then the nuclear arms race and present day amount of nukes in the world is greatly reduced because Hiroshima and Nagasaki were a catalyst for both the arms race and Cold War.... and the one I personally subscribe to 2) Someone using a nuke on someone else was inevitable, had we not done it then its likely Russia uses it on someone eventually.... possibly us? And thats obviously not a good outcome.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Saturday the U.S. has not stopped military aid to Ukraine after newly sworn in U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced he would pause foreign aid grants for 90 days.
Zelenskyy did not clarify whether humanitarian aid had been paused. Ukraine relies on the U.S. for 40% of its military needs. “I am focused on military aid; it has not been stopped, thank God,” he said at a press conference with Moldovan President Maia Sandu.
I do not want to read through pages of John Barron's keyboard diarrhea. Has this been discussed yet. Zelenski says that Trump did not suspend the military aid to Ukraine. Is Zelenski lying or did the anti-Ukraine people fap prematurely last week?

Military aid is continuing with zero changes. And I don't think that most people in here realize that a lot of military aid under USAI hasn't even been contracted yet. The Pentagon moves very slowly with that stuff
What Trump did was stop all other foreign aid worldwide, except for Israel and Egypt, pending review or for 90 days.
Some stuff got reviewed really, really fast. For example, we have been paying the guards at Al-Hol prison camp in Kurdish-controlled NE Syria, where some 50,000 ISIS members and their families are housed, and there were reports yesterday of guards who were walking off the job since they weren't going to be paid. Today, they are all back on the job, as the State Department finished its review of that expense and decided to keep paying the guards.
So, it's true that there were some humanitarian projects funded by USAID in Ukraine that have been affected, but this is relatively small potatoes compared to the military aid, which is 100% unaffected. And the State Department could still finish its review of those projects and restore funding at any time.
You many read some people say something like, "Well, the Pentagon could stop military aid at any time." Let's just say that there was zero chance that this was not extensively discussed with Secretary Hegseth during his confirmation process. There are a number of GOP senators (Wicker, Graham, Rounds) who would not have voted for Hegseth if they didn't receive assurances that Hegseth would support continuing current levels of military aid to Ukraine.
