Yes, Japan and South Korea have been importing LNG from Ras Laffan (Qatar) for many years now. I don't know what effect the US Gulf LNG has had, but 20 years ago there was a conveyor belt of LNG tankers running back and forth on a tight schedule.
Also from the US and Australia, not just Qatar. Easily as much exports to France and Netherlands since 2021. Both have Korea and Japan have tailed off since 2021.

Why would anyone think the mighty Russian army is inept? Everything I’ve seen on the Twitter machine is a professional army at work just mowing down the Ukrainian nazi nato inbreds. Meat waves? More like patriotic hero waves.

five sources with knowledge of the situation told Reuters.
"Russia’s budget revenue rose to a record high last month even after the US targeted the banking sector with a new round of sanctions aimed at disrupting foreign trade payments and curbing proceeds from exports.
Total revenue in December reached more than 4 trillion rubles ($40 billion), up by 28% compared with the same month of the previous year, according to Bloomberg calculations based on Finance Ministry data published late Tuesday. That’s the highest level recorded in ministry data that starts from January 2011."

If the sanctions are kept in place and enforced, Putin will not be able to restart the war. And eventually the Ukrainians will take back their land and obtain membership in NATO. When the Ukrainian version of the Little Green Men reappear, the Russians will not have the ability to stop them. And NATO will look the other way just as they did when the Little Green Men first appeared in 2014.
This is fantasy world.
Are you Ben Hodges or maybe David Petraeus?

Germany will have that Russian gas flowing before the ink is dry on Ukraine.

NATO chief says Europe will pay for US weapons for Ukraine, Reuters reports
Ulyana Krychkovska, Anastasia Protz — Thursday, 23 January 2025, 15:08
Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has said that Europe could take over the financing of US weapons for Ukraine and called on the United States to continue supplying them.
Source: European Pravda with reference to Reuters
Details: The NATO chief said that the alliance should invest more in defence, increase defence industrial production and take on a larger share of the costs of helping Ukraine.
Quote: "On Ukraine, we need the US also to stay involved," Rutte said.
He stressed that if the new Donald Trump administration is ready to continue supplying Ukraine from its defence industry base, the bill will be paid by Europeans.

Again, the primary issue in any negotiation will be the sanctions.
How long until the Putin bros start criticizing the sanctions and argue that they are ineffective and should be lifted?

They weren't getting from Nordstream starting almost a month before Nordstream was blown because Russians phucked up the compressors due ineptitude.

I've repeatedly touched on their military ineptitude, but that doesn't mean we should be inaccurate about it. Especially when it comes from someone pretending to be this know-it-all with supposed connections despite time and time again being proven a fraud

I have no problem with the sanctions other than they haven't worked.
Too many work arounds allowed and non enforcement. Did they stop the flow of Russian oil and gas? Did they target countries supplying or doing business with Russia?
No. They were half assed just like the West's military response.

You have absolutely no fricking idea what you’re talking about.

This is fantasy world.
It was stated yesterday that Russia had already spent 2/3s of their gold reserves and they are still spending.
Think about that.
Then think about what a real aggressive plan to limit Russian oil trade would go. Trump is talking about that and lowering oil prices.
Think about what that does to Russian revenues.
ETA: I just finished listening to Trump participating in the world economic forum in Davos. The guy was incredible. He outlived his plan to ratchet up the sanctions to meaningful levels and his plan to drop oil prices and to gear up LNG sales to Europe.
I recommend you to rewatch his speech.

quote:I know that in some circles flippancy equates to intelligence, but I've been wrong before. So please show us on the map how Germany will "have that Russian gas flowing". Remember, Poland and Ukraine have zero interest in facilitating Russian gas sales and Nordstream... well, even you know about that. Sometimes, reality just sucks.

Trump says he will ask OPEC, Saudi Arabia to lower oil prices
Speaking remotely to the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, President Donald Trump said he would ask Saudi Arabia and the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, or OPEC, to lower oil prices.
Trump said he was disappointed they hadn't acted already, arguing that doing so would have pressured Russia to end its war in Ukraine.
